Thank goodness, it would have been a shame to see Prince Jayden/Jaiden/Jaden/Jaydyn.

I figure, we'll be seeing a lot of him, and he's a celebrity who might not clutter up the news with DUI arrests and such, so...
      That's his uncle Harry's job!

There have been no fewer than six King Georges in Britain so far, so yes, it is a very straightforward choice for a royal name. It helps that none of the other princes in line for the throne have taken the name, so there should be no confusion.

By contrast, I can't really foresee "King Harry" catching on. I think he'll have to mature into "King Harold" - a name which *does* have precedent - if things go that way.

His actual name is Henry, though, so unless "Harold" is also a form of "Henry", that wouldn't happen.
Too tired of living and too tired to end it. What a conundrum.

He's already doing fairly well at it ...

Ugh, no kidding. I think if they'd seriously tried that, there would have been WORDS with the elder members of the family!

As for "Henry," all I think of when I hear that name in association with British royalty is the one with six wives. (Though for some odd reason, "Harry" immediately brings to mind the current holder of that name, even though Henry Tudor was often referred to as "Harry.")

I will just leave this here:

This kind of thing is why I weep for the future, because the day's coming when our children will read F'eyreigh Stories.

I saw an article that said last year in the US, there were 5 children named Carrion. And apparently 10 parents who have no idea how to use a dictionary.

Could have named their kid Gravid.

At least William and Kate didn't throw a bunch of letters together that were left over from a Scrabble hand like a number of today's parents seem to do.

King George VII...that's right, isn't it? He would be VII?

Depends. There are rumours that Charles will be George VII which would make the new prince George VIII. (Unless Charles really wants to be King Charles III, which, considering the fates of I and II, is not particularly likely.)

I am not altogether certain, but could he have Camilla as Queen? That's a question I've wondered...sine hearing about HRH the Queen's uncle and his marital issue.

Eh, the focus is on the little baby, anyway.

If I recall correctly, the monarch's spouse does not get the equal title. Queen Elizabeth's husband is know as Prince Phillip. I think his real title is Prince Consort. So Camilla would be Princess Consort.

I always heard that a wife could be Queen but a husband (non-royal) could not be King.

I was referring to the fiasco years ago where the Queen's uncle abdicated because of his wanting to marry a divorced woman.
