Nangbaby is...here's the thing. She's probably the most die-hard fan of the '90s dub ever. Of course, that isn't a bad thing in and of itself. I used to love the dub as well until I was introduced to the subs. One of my best IRL friends only knows the dub and loves it. However, what's off-putting are her posts about it (i.e. that boycott) and her responses to people who don't think that the dub is the Best Thing Ever.

What I've been able to make sense of her posts, though, she believes that English dubs of anime should all be Westernized because apparently English-speaking audiences can't handle names and concepts from non-English-speaking countries, that using the original Japanese names and customs in a dub is cultural appropriation, and that anyone who dislikes the '90s dub is wrong and horrible (especially if those people are Naoko Takeuchi).

It very likely will, actually, since it'll be unedited. Yay for getting crap past the radar.
For those who are unfamiliar, basically "new-half" means MTF transsexual, "Roppongi" is supposedly a red-light district and "nanpa" basically refers to men who "hunt" for a girl so to speak.

So in plain English....Mr. Ikuhara went to a red-light district to pick up a girl and wound up getting a MTF transsexual. (In this case, one would be assuming pre-op)

I'm going to give this a try when it rolls around, I'm hoping the characters are less whiney and less earpiercing than I remember from my childhood.
Sailor Moon's scream was one of the WORST. There's a reason why it was called the "yodelling squeal." Sailor Pluto's voice wasn't that much better.

From the looks of it though, at least they're keeping Sailor Moon's costume closer to the manga than it was in the anime. (Off the top of my head, Sailor Moon's original anime costume was lacking in the hairpins and her tiara went through about 3-4 different iterations. When she became Super Sailor Moon, for some bizarre reason they had her skirt with a gradient of green/blue/white, which turned into stripes of yellow/blue/white out of the henshin)

And I suspect that Rule 34 will result here...
Already been done, but I will spare you the eye burning horror of it. Just know it involves Sailor Moon, DBZ and just about every other shonen or shojou character that was popular in the 90's

I will say, that's something I will almost miss about the dub- Its ability to turn everything hilariously porn-y. Sailor Moon S seemed to be the biggest victim of it. As well as this bit from the movie, there was the infamous Twister scene, and this little scene with the taiko drummer.
Oh yes, the Twister scene. Good god her VA sounded like she was orgasming throughout that scene. Add Dr. Tomoe's pervy laugh and it's like "Sailor Moon"-Literally.

Speaking of Sailor Moon, when they dubbed the film for Sailor Moon S (the one with the Snow Dancers), there's a scene in the film where Luna kisses this guy (the best she can do as a cat). She then gets this blush on her face and starts running through the fields nearby all giddy. As someone put it "I don't know WHAT THE HELL Jill Frappier was doing during this scene, but all I have to say is that this is CHILDREN'S PROGRAMMING!"
    You mean....this?

Oh god how could I forget to give some lovin to Greg Ayres. He's arguably as eually ubiquitous as Crispin Freeman
He somehow manages to pull off Negi Springfield in a very adorkable way. The reason why I say this is because unlike the version where they turned Luna into the feline version of Mary Poppins, Negi actually SOUNDS closer to his "age" than "Luna" does.
