Anyone worried about this? I'm bringing headphones and going to blast Alice in Chains to drown these folks out.

I don't think I will have an issue with this, as we are attending the Mall of America's release party here, and the area that it is in, is pretty loud anyway, and there will be so much going on.

Not only that, is if someone were to yell out a so-called plot spoiler, I actually would not believe what they said until I read it for myself. Who knows, maybe they're lying.

I'm going to buy my copy at the grocery store. I highly doubt that these jerks will be hanging out in frozen foods waiting to spoil Harry Potter for anyone. And if they do ruin it for me there will be need of a clean- up on aisle 4.

And since it'll probably be a big, heavy book, you'll have your weapon right there! (Though you will need to get another copy after that...)

Don't most people read a book just for the pleasure of reading a book? I've read several books where I already knew the ending and enjoyed them just as much. It'd be like complaining that someone gave away the ending of the Titanic movie.

Actually, no it really wouldn't. There are way too many variables- too many ways it COULD go.

Of course in Titanic you knew the ship would sink and I saw Leo's death coming from a mile away.

Ah, I guess it's just obvious to me then...well, you see, from clues I gathered, I'm pretty sure that- *gets brained with frying pan* Erk...*thud*

Still, along those lines, I did have several friends freak out when I mentioned the ship's sinking before we saw the movie. My response was "You know damn well what's going to happen to that ship!" "Well, yeah, but you don't have to tell us!" *facepalm*

Oh, I have a very strong theory based on previous books- sure. I have probably put WAY too much time into thinking about it. But I also know that there are quite a few other options she could go with as well. I'll be disappointed if I'm wrong but I still want to find out for myself...

Did anyone see the news article a few weeks ago, about some hackers who supposedly hacked a copy of the last book and posted spoilers on some website? I can't remember the site (and can't find the old article either), but I cannot resist temptation so I looked I don't know if it's true or not, but even the possibility of it being a true spoiler won't spoil the reading of it for me. I am still looking forward to it. Scott and I are probably getting our copy at Target. It may turn out different since it is the last book, but I have never had trouble finding a copy at places like Wal-Mart etc. on opening day.

I did find this article http://www.theherald.co.uk/news/news...527821.0.0.php

I wonder if she cried because it was done, or because of some other reason?

Warning; anyone who ruins the last book for me will be hacked to death with a rusty razor, then ressurected, and killed again. Then I will feed their remains to my cat.

XD Yes, it really is that important.

I hadn't even thought about this happening. Luckily at the store I do events for, people are out quickly (by about 1:00 last time) so that decreases the chances. I should perhaps tell the marketing manager to include a spoiler warning when we have our big countdown moment - more to be careful not to spoil for anyone else.

I would anyone who spoiled me. I'm planning on finishing it that night/morning in part to reduce that from happening, but at the thought it could happen.
ESPECIALLY since I knew who died in OotP ahead of time (my bookstore chain then was allowed to read them early if we swore on our lives not to say anything before the book was out) and kept it quiet - even from my coworkers when someone at another store stuffed it up and we had to reseal all of the boxes for the next week and I was the only one in my store that had gotten that far.

I was just saying yesterday that I was surprised that I have not seen any supposed spoilers for this book. I ran across the big one for the last book about a week before it came out.

If anyone spoils this one, they will be in major trouble. I told my 12yo that she's just going to have to wait and read it after me because she has a bad habit of telling things that happen in movies and books. In her mind if she doesn't think it's important, then she doesn't see why people won't want to know and will tell you regardless of your desire not to hear about it.
