Really, Really, Really Bad FanFic

*ponders: there must be a "worst Ghostbusters fanfic ever" out there somewhere....but do I want to look for it?*

There are, I've read some, unfortunately. They're not as grammatically horrid as this one, or My Immortal, but they are so OOC that you wonder if the writers had even seen the original movie!

Back when I actually had a coauthor for the 89-page Ghostbusters/CoC epic that still hasn't quite reached a beta-reader-worthy stage of completion, said person seemed to delight in screwing with characterization (and ticking me and the muses off to no end). I can deal with minor character changes that can be explained believably, but...aie. And I know she'd seen the movie to a point where she was able to debate character changes between the two movies, or the movies and the cartoon.

But of course, this kid's main contribution to the fic was an extreme Mary Sue (who ceased any and all existence after she was "hit by friendly fire" during an RPG campaign ).

I like the fact that Legolas fell in love with a ten year old girl, and kissed and such.

Thankfully, I didn't even see that part.

I would be ashamed to have that out there on the internet. Like the burning shame I feel whenever I read childhood diaries.
I don't know. It reads like the fantasies I'd have when I was 8 or 9.

But I haven't written like that since I was six.

I get the feeling that the person who wrote it was eight or nine. Well, maybe even six.

I'm trying to work out if someone's holding up a child's work for ridicule, or if they're really just that bad. I'm currently leaning towards the latter, but not convinced either way.

I'm not going to touch it. I'm that convinced it was written by a child. Possibly one so young she dictated to her mother or someone so they could type it. Either that, or someone learning challenged.

I'm serious. Sometimes, it becomes uncool to make fun of someone.

I was a little embarassed, however, to point out the other one on that same site that I glanced over while I was at it. The ragingly pornographic one. (watch the site go down...ahem...now from all the hits) but I figure what they hey.

Here's the really scary part about the porno one. God help me, I would put down money that I know the person who wrote it. I won't say how or why, but let's just say it seriously smacks of this person for a large number of very compelling reasons.

And I'm a little freaked out.

A friend of mine did this spoof of all the fanfics that involve taking a childhood classic and filling it with 18+ stuff. It is therefore not suitable for work, or indeed, anyone, and I'm not sure about posting the link.
However, if you search the fanfiction.net site for 'A stormy night in toyland' you've got it.

I can't believe I read that whole thing without my brain dying out on me. I mean And that digimon passage, I stopped reading it after the first line. I sometimes write fanfics or little short stories based on already existing songs, and I know that some of them are crappy, but not as crappy as this...this... I can't even explain what this is.
