I don't have kids. I won't come at it from that angle. I have, however, been involved in the search for a missing person. Words cannot describe the emotions that would go through a volunteer on finding out it was faked. When you're involved with something like that, it's hugely emotional. You get caught up in the fear and concern for this person and since YOU PERSONALLY can actually make a difference (maybe you'll be the one to find him/her), you are very hooked into what's going on. To find out it was all a parental prank ... wow. Just, um, wow.

Geez. Enough flipping anger went through me at the earlier searchers since our guy was found in a "cleared" area.

A very sick story. I remember watching it all unfold when she was found and all the suspicion surrounding it. Honestly, I think a great deal of it was due to the huge marketing and money-making McCann campaign. No doubt the woman is utterly sick and that for anyone worthy of being a parent no amount of money could make up for causing their child unnecessary trauma. I hope poor Shannon finds a way to deal with it all.
