  • Hell's Kitchen Season 5 (Possible Spoilers)

    Anyone been watching this????

Especially Ramsay laying into the "cooking school instructor" Colleen, calling her a "thief" and saying he's worried about the "poor bastards that she's taken money from".

I looked her up online and I can't believe that she's peddling herself for being on this show....

    Oh my god...

Actually I think Ramsey has it right...she is a theif. Seen her cooking and multitudes of mistakes she has done? Even *I* knew some of those fancier deals were wrong and I'm still doing simpler things.

She even has her own local cooking show!

-----I take it she must be a real "hot item" in Omaha??? Personally I thought she was gonna be a real talent on the show with the way she has billed herself.

I'm surprised she hasn't been filleted yet.

Didja see the first episode when she offered Ramsay a course in 'Politeness'?

If looks were lasers, she'd have been a smoking hole in the ground.

One thing that surprises many is, I'm a vegetarian, yet love Gorden Ramsey and watch many of the shows he's in

That woman.... either the editing's done in such a way to make her look bad, or I too feel sorry for al the poor suckers she's taken money from (and what was it? $300/hr? -- A cooking school I looked into, and actually used by big-named chefs, is actually less than that!)

If you look at her "bio" she own a cooking school, has a cooking show on local access, and is food editor for a local magazine (probably one of those free ones at the grocery store).

Of course she never been to a real cooking school, just taken a few classes and she's never been the chef at a restaurant.

Man, and Ramsay can be such a sweetie-pie, too. (The original British shows he's done are nowhere near as over-the-top) These people are gonna make him have a stroke one of these days. My husband has been Colleen's worst enemy since her first appearance; I think he's hoping Ramsay just takes her down like a lion on a wounded gazelle and drags her carcass off camera. My biggest beef with her was when she changed a recipe of Ramsay's in the middle of service by adding marscapone without asking. Oh, Mr Ramsay. You are the powderkeg of rage of my dreams!

For a more serious competition, I also watch Top Chef on Bravo. I actually spotted an earlier eliminated chef on Iron Chef last night. AND SHE FAILED THEN TOO.

Yeah, I watch a lot of cooking shows. I consider it prep.

Sadly I saw a few "Hell's Kitchen" photos.... that lady has the other color shirt (black "stripe" ones) -- the one that you only get once the red/blue teams are merged into one.... so she's apparently going to be there for a while.

Wasn't she the one who never turned the over on an wondered why food wasn't getting cooked?

My BF and I watch this show avidly.

I always at the burns that Ramsay hands out, especially when they're deserved.

Yeah, Colleen IS a thief. She's horrid.

Poor Ji... she didn't deserve to have gone home.

                        What did she steal?

I cant watch hells kitchen because Ramseys rage really upsets me
(Ive had people scream at me like that at the craft store when we were out of ribbon/thread/oxygen and once famously because I wouldnt refund a $2 packet of bias binding)

I watched a few episodes when it first started and always wondered why professional chefs became so incompetant when they cook on that show.... now I know, because they dont always have professional chefs!

I think when he called her a thief he was making reference to the fact that by portraying herself as a professional chef (which she is not, you don't get to just call yourself a chef) when she really does appear to have poor cooking skills, she's "stealing" money from the people she's charging for cooking lessons. If she's representing herself to them as a professionally trained chef, then yes, she is.

Ramsay on American TV is paid to be much more theatrical, loud, and vulgar than he normally is. Watch "The F Word" or the British version of "Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares" on BBC and you'll see that he's actually only slightly more hotter tempered than your average joe; he rarely raises his voice (unless he's found mouldy food in the fridge), and he doesn't toss around insults. It's a shame the US networks feel the need to make him seem louder than he is to garner ratings, because he really is a first rate chef.

Trust me, Ramsay is not an ogre. When he walked out of a restaurant he was working in years ago, the ENTIRE staff (including front of house) walked out with him as a show of solidarity, and most of them are still working for him today.

I love, love, loooove this show. I've been watching it since day one, season one!! I think Ramsey hits the nail on the head with each and every insult he dishes out.

Colleen is an idiot. But I think Lacey should be next to get the ax. She really sucks.
If you don't like my attitude, talk to the manager!!! Oh, wait, that would be me!!

Yes, I'm the manager. I'm also known as "the brick wall".

I once found myself staring at the TV in horror thinking of things that made his comments seem tame.... Granted I wouldn't say them aloud and he does, but still.
