Ugh, I wish we could kick them out of Kansas. They're frequent visitors to our town - pretty much the only liberal, enlightened town in the whole frickin' state.
Phelps' clan are regular visitors to quite a few cities through out Kansas. Phelps is despised through most of the state. Kansas is a conservative state, but the Phelps clan has very few supporters that I know of in this region.
There are plenty of "enlightened" people in Kansas outside of Lawrence.

Ah, but as far as liberal towns, Lawrence is more enlightened than the Dotte.
I have a...thing. Wanna see it?

        This was awesome!

I live in Topeka, the home town of these losers. About two miles from their "church", as the crow flies.

I see them all too often, and all I can do is think "God bless America, where even 'tards like these can speak their so-called minds."

I'll have to think about organizing a dance-in with some friends for the next time I see them . . .

It doesn't get any more liberal than here, a mere stone's throw from DC. It's annoying how up-tight and stuck-up all the 'big city liberal' types are. They even ruin the museums.

I don't care what 'the Republicans' are doing, I just want to finish my cheeseburger.
I like things that go *bang!*

I know they used to hang out daily on a corner of Gage park. Are they still doing that?
I'm down the road in Emporia. They hit our high school about a month ago. We had about 10 of the inbred clan show up only to be shouted down by a very large and vocal group of Emporia State Univ. students. The Local paper gave them no press, which is exactly what they're after.

This is why Chicago is awesome!
I thought the pizza was what made Chicago awesome?

But seriously, great job frat guys.

I know some friends that would do it as long as the song was "It's Raining Men".
Sounds like a plan, let's get the camera and boombox ready! Now THAT's the way to pwn the Phelps sheeple! To the frat, and here's one on me!

Well, the pizza, the beer, the 1985 Chicago Bears, the Billy Goat Tavern (cheezborger, cheezborger!)... I'd say the radio, but that went to hell in 2005.

I gotta wonder if ol' Freddie dared to take a trip down to Boy's Town (Lakeview).

Anyway, the Cult o' Fred is gearing up to cause Liam Neeson's family some aggravation. They'll be protesting the funeral.

They haven't done that in quite a while. Probably weren't getting enough attention there. Or maybe it was because the SCA started having fighter practice in the park.

I wish the Topeka paper would do the same. You're right, it's exactly what these douchepancakes want. Thankfully, most people in Topeka have learned to just ignore them. Gets hard to do, though, when you see them out there on the sidewalk you're walking on, with a couple of *toddlers* holding signs. Happened just the other day, and boy, did I have to bite my tongue.

I know, Mr. Yuck, wasn't trying to lump everyone in Kansas with the same brush....but with some of the things that happen here I wonder...

Ah well. I'd love it if Phelps & Co. tried to pull some crap at KU. We've got a LOT of students with school pride running out of their ears. They'd be chased off the hill before you could say "Rock Chalk". (I don't know why, but the tournament has inspired a bit of school spirit, which I normally don't have).

I don't read the local news much, but I know from my time in KC that The Pitch covers the Phelps family (Mary in particular) on a fairly regular basis.

Referring to Crime-in-Dotte county? When I live in KC (MO), I got lost in KC (K) one night. I will never never ever ever be guilty of that again!!! *shudder* And amazing how close all that is to JoCo, the Beverly Hills of the Midwest.

I think the conversation withe the W"BC" cult went like this.

CultLeader: are we ready to bother people, be strong and tell them that God hates every one?
                            Followers: Yes!

Frat: *playing i'm coming out and dancing*
CL: Shit! gay music! Get out of hear, quickly, run!!!!!!!!! It burns!!!

Probably a little too sensitive on my part AA. No harm no foul.

I am very surprised the WBC has yet to meet with violent opposition of some kind. Especially since they've decided the funerals of our dead soldiers are prime picketing opportunities.

Hmm. Looks like there's no mention of them at all in the press releases about Natasha Richardson's funeral. Either the press is going out of their way to snub him, or he got cold feet.
