    - Sleeping in until 10-11am, even though it's not Mother's Day or my birthday.
    - Freshly ground and made coffee.
    - Painting a room in a different colour.
    - Finishing a project.
    - Starting a new project.
    - Autumn days.
    - Smelling the smoke from someone's fireplace on a crisp morning during the school run.
    - The bellylaughs from the lounge room while the kids are watching 'Tom and Jerry'.
    - Sleepy cuddles.
    - Holding hands.
Don't tempt pixies, it never ends well.

I'm trying to see things from your point of view, but I can't get my head that far up my keister!

        Freshly roasted and brewed coffee

The smell of my own tomato plants in the garden.

The sounds the birds make right at the crack of dawn in spring and summer.

The wonderful arrays of halloween and pumpkin decorations in the fall.

The great combination of being alone in the house for hours, and sitting down in the living room with some kind of awesome food and a good film/tv show on netflix.

The first kiss with someone you really really like (that doesn't happen often but meh I like it when it does)

I second the one about putting on fresh socks out of the package....there's nothing like it. And they smell good too.

The smell of freshly washed laundry out of the washer. Especially with a slight hint of bleach. Reminds me of my child hood when I had to hand wash stuff on the weekends, and then hang them on those pulley clothes lines that stretched across rooftops.

            Lightning storms
            Those short evening rain showers
The smell of fresh cut grass
Being on the back of hubby's motorcycle ( I don't ride my own)

This thread has gotten some really good replies. But I can't help but notice that it's been mostly the ladies responding! C'mon, fellas, get involved! Here are a few more examples from MY list:

              Car shows and cruise-ins.

The smell (and sound!) of bacon frying.

Taking the nieces to the little fairs and carnivals during the warm weather (so sis and bro-in-law can have a little quiet time together...)

The crisp air and brilliant colors of an autumn afternoon.

The radio playin' that forgotten song......

              A colorful sunrise or sunset.

And weird as it sounds, that faint static between AM radio stations (awesome sleep aid, by the way!)

I found a great one on Sunday: looking at that bright dot in the night sky and being able to discern, through binoculars alone, that there's a lot more prettyness to that dot than just its brightness. In fact there were two dots: they were Jupiter and Saturn.

Also today: catching a glimpse of a 22ยบ arc around the sun on the way home.

Most of my simple excitements involve looking up ^^

                  HMMMMMM
                  (the past)
sitting on my parent's house front porch during a thunder and lighting storm

going out to a wooded area (now all built up into a county park) and sitting next to the stream running out of the cave

walking the railroad tracks next to the Mississpi River south of St. Louis for miles upon miles then having a train pass by

shooting dead light bulbs my Father threw into a stream with a vintage Red Ryder BB gun

a bike ride to the various parks in south St. Louis

                  Playing step ball

devouring the SciFi sections of 3 or 4 different library branches during summer vacation

                  (the present)

waiting for rainbows after an afternoon rain storm

going back to the places listed above as they still feel like "home"

The smell of a wood fire when camping
I'm lost without a paddle and headed up SH*T creek.

The smell of the exhaust of a 'late model' race car that is burning high octane racing fuel.

The sound of the rain on the roof of the house.

The sound of 2 dogs happily chewing away on raw hide bones.

The smell and sound of a wood fire in the fireplace on a cold winter's day.
Just sliding down the razor blade of life.

I'll second the smell of bacon frying.

                        Also:
the taste of meat cooked outdoors over a wood fire
walking hand-in-hand with someone I love
watching the sun set over a lake

I suddenly remember Delenn's line from Joe's script. Not a bad prospect. I am not afraid. In the meantime, let me close my eyes and sense the beauty around me. And take that breath under the dark sky full of stars. Breathe in. Breathe out. That's all."

Hearing robins again. All day and ALL NIGHT (seriously, these birds never sleep!)

                              The smell of lilacs.

                              Watching birds enjoying the birdbath.

Going straight home after work instead of having to stop at a store for something.

Sitting outside at a coffee shop, people-watching.

A cup of hot coffee and a piece of really good chocolate.

Seeing the very first sliver of the moon.

Stting on my porch on a sunny day when it's QUIET.
When you start at zero, everything's progress.

Feeling clean after a nice long hot shower
The smell of bacon and maple syrup in the morning.
                                Watching a lightning storm.
A full moon on a clear night.
                                Cuddling my husband.
The smell of hot fresh baked cinnamon buns (or anything freshly baked)
                                Flowers.
Watching the sun rise from the ocean.
