The problem is to most places that would help I make too much. The problem is with increased costs I bring home about 70% of my gross salary. With the garnishment, that lasts 5 more checks, I bring home 48% of my gross salary.

What's bad is in the past few years I have donated close to 7k in food, time, and money. And now here I am on this side and I make too much. Well make to much if you just look at my gross yearly salary from last year and my projected yearly gross for this year.

I'm pretty sure that a lot of places take your expenses into account...it never hurts to try.

Aunt makes it so I can't be there when my grandpa dies, apartments won't take me, and now a 24 hour notice on my door. Just fucking kill me now. I can't do this anymore.

Edit: landlord came here while I was crying and being quite hysterical. He's now giving me till the 22 and then he will come with the sheriff to have me gone. Fucking hell over the past years I've been in this damn city with every house I've tried to get...I figured it out and it will be 2168.xx

Athenian, first off virtual hugs, but most importantly, IT WILL GET BETTER!

I had to move in with my dad a few years back as I had $2 to my name and no job and no hope, so I have been there and very much know what you're feeling.

          IT WILL GET BETTER!

Have you tried the Y? (Er...I don't recall if you're a guy or not, sorry ) If you have a YM/WCA in your city.

You know, this asshole has one gigantic THUNDERBOLT HERE sign on the back of his head now...just imagine that. An angry Zeus (or God if you are Christian) aiming right at him.

Honestly, if the landlord is doing that when he's the one supposedly not paying his bills, something is not right here. Do you have a lease agreement with him? If so, I know things are tight, but try and talk with a lawyer. Something is definitely not adding up here if you're in the US.

Specifically, for one, he can't simply evict you unless you're in violation of the lease (ie, nonpayment of rent, or doing something specifically prohibited in the terms, and so on). If he was being foreclosed on (for not paying bills and such), tenant's laws give you 90 days to find new living arrangements before being evicted, again assuming you are under a written lease.

That all leads to the pertinent question on where you're at (what state/country/etc). I can pull up some good info that may help.

I have said it before I was in a lease option contract. That is not a normal contract and what he has done is so far out of the scope if things a lawyer from the Cooley law school doesn't even like it. Hell I talked to his lawyer last night over the phone and got that icky slimey feelings. The guy is loosing three houses under a out of state LLC that holds the mortgages. He also has not paid property taxes. And as of the court papers left on my door last night doesn't know how to add since I had proof I paid so much and he only credited me for a substantial less amount.

THIS IS NOT A NORMAL DEAL.

Tama I'm female...and no we don't have a y like that in this area. I also make too much even with my reduced take home to qualify for help.

Ok, a lease option is similar to owner finance (common in this area, lived in one once). The owners are often shady. In fact, the house we lived in was forclosed on and set to be auctioned on the courthouse steps. We just moved to a cheap apt in a decent area in the next town over.

There should be a Legal Aid service where you are, and also women's shelters. Check with the Salvation Army, and your church if you have one. I seem to remember that you are a postal carrier--check with your union representative to see if they can suggest anything. NALC usually has a decent network--at least they do in Austin.

I make too much to be helped by legal aid, Salvation Army, 211, the church's I've donated money too won't help, how many times do I have to say this? That Monday when everything came crashing down I made over 30 calls to various places.

Now I'm starting to wonder why I posted anything here.

One) Everybody's trying to help. All we can do is throw out the options we know.

Two) You'd actually be surprised at what calling and asking and applying can do for you. The first month of my pregnancy bills had us making too much money for Medicaid coverage. We applied anyway. Turns out that the state has a private, cannot be applied for, group to catch parents like us who make a bit too much to be covered, but not enough to cover the bills ourselves. We were accepted. Who knows? Maybe your state has something like that too. You just have to apply and find out.

having been in a similar situation as Aethian, i think that its not that she doesn't appreciate the help its that she is in mid-crisis and having done the options and coming here for more advice to see people posting the same or similar can be ...frustrating to say the least.

I am not saying anyone is right or wrong but to try and understand its hard to be rational when in the middle of a freak out thats been going on for a while because of everything thats going on.

however its also hard to calm down enough to make the calls and be calm while making said calls. i've been there, where even though people are trying to help that one word or sentence just sets you free without meaning to....

that and just trying to keep the peace for a second

It's obvious this thread has run its course with regard to suggestions, as we seem to be getting a lot more of the same, and it appears to be adding to the OP's frustration.
I think it would be best for Aethian's peace of mind if we just close it.

I trust I can speak for Aethian in giving a heartfelt thanks to all the really caring members of the CS community who have done their best to help out.
