The Writing on the (Bathroom) Wall
Or, more correctly, the writing on the bathroom stall.
For the life of me, I don't understand why people do this. In my mind, it's completely disrespectful, as it is a defacement of private (and sometimes public) property. I suppose the answer to "Why?" is "Because they can."
I've seen some, well, interesting ones, too. And from the ones I've seen, they're usually done by wanna-be gangster types, people who think they are "funny" or witty, or people who are, shall we say, on the lower end of the intelligence spectrum. You can tell that by how and what they write.
Do these people carry markers or something with them? Do they think they're being witty or funny? Do they think they're going to exact revenge on someone by scribbling their name on a bathroom stall?
It's almost like they're thinking, "Hey, I'm sitting here...I've got this marker/pen/whatever in my pocket, I might as well just deface this wall right here..."
Writing on the walls, though, at least allows for the possibility that the wall can be cleaned. Some of these individuals, however, take it to another level and find it necessary to actually carve their whatever they are called (because they certainly are not "writings"). It's as if they believe the wall to the stall is a stone tablet, or something. Sometimes it's initials. Sometimes it's a vulgarity. Sometimes it's racist. Sometimes it's something else, entirely (use your imagination). But it makes me wonder: What type of carving instrument do they use? Car keys? A knife of some sort?
The people that do this, as I stated earlier, I believe have no respect for private property, and they're showing their intelligence (or, lack thereof). I understand it's just a bathroom, but still, it's an unnecessary, immature, and low-intelligence behavior.
