I get that Shadow, but from the sounds of it the company was going about this the right way and then they got burned. Getting a deal that suddenly meant a whole lot more people, prestige, and something that could push them to the next level. And then they got played big time and made them look like they are a jynx company.

I'm sorry to hear you're going through this.

Sickening update. I just found out that the company closed down over the weekend. The owners are still saying they will get everyone paid, but...I don't think that's going to hold true, at this point. I'm going to be calling my contact at the DOL shortly to find out what my options are now.
I'm literally sick to my stomach right now. Thankfully, I spent all weekend fine tuning my resume and posting it on a couple of websites...well...now I'm going to start hunting for jobs. I guess if I can't find anything by August....going to have to go pick up a retail job to try and help us bounce back.By popular request....I am now officially the Enemy of Normalcy.

I'm so sorry to hear this, Seraph. We often joke about your Enemy of Normalcy status, but when it results in things like this, it's very much not amusing.
We're all here to support you.
Now if you'll excuse me...

Damn right we will be. I'm entirely disgusted by this. Hopefully your contact at the DoL can help you out.Quoth Jay 2K Winger View PostI'm so sorry to hear this, Seraph. We often joke about your Enemy of Normalcy status, but when it results in things like this, it's very much not amusing.

Welp, DOL says I'm out of luck. All the numbers have been disconnected, and they CLEANED OUT THE OFFICE.
So now it'd be up to small claims. Which, if I went that route, I'd only get a judgement. Which is extremely difficult to collect on.
Guess my route at this point, will be to write it off as a bad debt, on my taxes for my business. So angry, so sad right now, and really effing depressed. I thought things were going to finally turn around for us.By popular request....I am now officially the Enemy of Normalcy.

This is Seraph. She is not just an Enemy of Normalcy, but an Enemy of Nature.Quoth paintballworker View Post>.>
*wonders if burying Seraph in cats and other squee-worthy animals would dampen her anti-normalcy field*

Stupid question. Has the stuff you've actually worked on actually been used anywhere? I don't know if a workman's lien could be applied in your case, but it might be worth talking to an attorney about. Also, it may still be worthwhile to get a judgement against the company, in case they are paid by said contractor later. Otherwise the owner may just pocket those funds.Quoth Seraph View PostWelp, DOL says I'm out of luck. All the numbers have been disconnected, and they CLEANED OUT THE OFFICE.

Not that I've seen, but that's a good point. I guess I'll look into it, and see what I can do.Quoth TheSHAD0W View PostStupid question. Something tells me that they intended to do this. Not that they weren't paid, but they MEANT for this to happen.
