I had a neurofibroma removed from my spine 3 years ago. Mine was on the T12 nerve root and grew through my spinal column. I now have a 4 level spinal fusion, but hardly lasting issues, save some nerve damage that just causes some skin numbness.

I hope your husband's surgery goes well. It sounds like they're being careful and not just leaving things to chance. It'll be over before you know it. Then you have the fun of recovery in the summer.

The plan of action as of now is as follows. Tomorrow they are going to do a nerve block at the base of the nerve the fibroma is located and then remove it on Tuesday, as long as the vascular surgeon clears him from the MRA

Huge hugs. My thoughts are with you guys.

                      FCCR's text to me tonight:
Today was a day of tests. Tomorrow is the angiogram of his brain. Surgery is possibly on Thursday.
She's been too busy to post, and is probably too exhausted, I'd think.

Now that I have my laptop I will give you all an update.

The surgeon is too afraid of doing the surgery at this time. We have met with a pain specialist and yesterday he put in the first injection to freeze the nerve root. We will know more on Monday

I can only imagine what you guys are going through with all the waiting. I hope your husband is able to get some relief from the pain.

How frustrating! The cervical area is pretty tricky, though. I think it's good that the surgeon is being cautious, even if it takes longer for a good resolution for your husband. I hope he can get some relief from pain in the short term.

Hang in there. It sounds like he's in good hands.
