It's my nature to try to bring levity to an otherwise grim situation.

Similarly, back in the mid-late '70's, and probably relatively freshly out of High School, and buddy and I were cruising down the highway that passes by the cemetery where my parents are buried.

I kinda freaked my buddy out by waving and saying "Hi Mom! Hi Dad!", as we passed by.

Mom's home!

They let her out early, since she's doing so well. She'll still have to go to the clinic for checkups, but she's going over to the hospital in the nearby city since the staff over there can just as easily examine her as the staff in Halifax.

She's still pretty sore, and gets tired easily, but other than that she's doing great.
