Yes, Preciousss, we has done it.....

Sorry, a little giddy at 4:45 am. ...Topped my 50K. The story's not done yet, so I'll keep going.

I'm absolutely nowhere near. My railway simulator projects took over all my time - but, having started, I may well persevere after the month is up anyway.

          Congrats, MoonCat!

I've fallen behind. I'm not out of the running, but I need to hit 2k words daily this week in order to make it. I'm hoping I can get sent home early tonight, since it's going to be fairly dead and I have a work meeting tomorrow. After my work meeting, I'm hoping to spend the day writing and hope to knock out around 4k words, and then another 3-4k on Wednesday. I'm thinking of going to a coffee shop to do some lunchtime writing. I figure they'll be fewer distractions there than there is at home.

Ive fallen behind. My schedule with work, sleep and school had been almost unmanageable. Ive been sneaking some writing at work. I write it in my email and then email it to myself. I find when people see me typing a word document they gravitate to me and try to read what I've written. When it's an email open, less people seem inclinced to come talk to me and be nosey. Who knows.

Anyway, I am determined to finish on time. I need an avg of 1900 words for the next 5 days to finish. I plan on making it happen.

            Congrats to the winner(s).

Just hit 50k a couple of hours ago. Still have more writing to go but I have reached my word count goal.

Man where does the time go? Not only did I not get anywhere near 50k; I didn't even finish the story I started before November.

But I did a big writing kick yesterday and got it mostly finished; just need to do the final scenes now to wrap things up, so it is effectively done. Topped out at about 16k words, but I like how it went and it sets up a lot of things for future work.

I also had more ideas for another story, but I shelved it for now until I got this one done.

                  Congrats to all the winners.

I'm thinking next year of writing a character with a rare form of either OCD or Tourettes where she compulsively keeps reciting Canterbury's second monologue in Henry V. Watch the word count climb...

I was thinking of doing my own "Finnegan's Wake". Except I would write it in a month instead of 17 years.

I have 2158 words left to write tomorrow. I should just be able to make it! I just need to figure out what to write. All that's really left now is the denouement, so hopefully I can stretch that out.

After NaNo, I think I may start on the zombie apocalypse story I should have written, because this one's a flaming pile of crap. (Though the climactic confrontation with the ghost of Linda Hazzard isn't that bad.)

                          Ok, Everybody calm down.

Ok, so while I'm nowhere near done with the actual stpry...it's just a feat for me to be able to write that much in the midst of all that's going on in my life. I took some me time and really made it mine. I dont know how much longer it will take until I have written a complete story, but without this push, who knows when I would have even started.

Finally squeezed it in shortly after noon today. 50014 words. I'm done!
