  • Left over egg whites

So tomorrow, for the first time ever, I'm trying to make creme brulee, but it means I'll have 6 egg whites left over.

It seems a shame to bin them off - has anyone any bright ideas on how someone with very little cooking ability can use them (my previous cooking experience mostly involves muffins).
A PSA, if I may, as well as another.

        Either that or soufflés.
I'm trying to see things from your point of view, but I can't get my head that far up my keister!

Also macaroons are an option (if you like coconut).

They seem a little beyond my current abilities - but I'll bear it in mind for later attempts

egg whites are a primary ingredient in:
              buttercream
              macarons
              macaroons
              angel food cake
              pavlova
              meringue
              Don't wanna; not gonna.

I made my first souffle at 8 years old. They are not as difficult as you may think.

                Try a basic cheese souffle.

This is a great pictorial one of Julia Child's cheese souffle. Although souffle does also frequently use yolk as well as white [this one is 4 yolk, 5 white]

But you could make meringues for dessert, or a tiny angel food cake with the rest of the whites...

You could always just mix them up with some seasonings and then use them to make an egg white omelet, too.

You can also freeze them for later use, but they don't generally whip as well after they've been frozen.

                    how bout angel food cake?

                      Chocolate mousse, perhaps?

I vote for a chocolate mousse...or brownies with a baked meringue topping

Lemon meringue pie! Just buy the lemon curd and a pastry base and you're away!

Why buy lemon curd? It's pretty easy to make from scratch.
