The leading edge of the weather system is crossing Scandinavia now. Weather warnings here in Finland for strong winds and (on water) high waves. It looks like the winds will be a lot weaker than they were over England, though.

We have inherited the storm here, not quite as bad as when it was in UK.
Still, I went home early. No reason to risk life and limb, not to mention the taxi to earn a few kroner more.
We have an election here and the taxi was hit by several flying posters, a tree branch and a trash bin before I decided to call it a day. I heard on the radio that the police ask people to stay at home and only dial 112 if it is a question of life and death, so it's quite a storm here too.

I concur. I got a message at work that the police had adviced people to, if possible, clock out early and get home before the storm arrived, so I did - which I'm thankful for, because almost all public transportation shut down approx. an hour after I got home.
