  • ...is it time for the Steam summer sale yet?

    I haven't played UT2004 in years and, though it's on Steam right now for $15, I've also had my eye on Don't Starve Together. That one, alas, is not so cheap and I don't want to have to choose between them. I'm hoping that, once the sale starts, they'll be cheap enough to justify getting both.

    Ohgod, please don't say that there's a Steam sale coming. I have enough in my queue as it is and my wallet's already mad at me.

      Ok, I won't talk about any impending sales. I'll instead talk about how I long to lay waste to various nightmarish creatures with a gun that fires exploding goo balls. (Seriously, the GES bio rifle was always my favorite weapon in all of Unreal Tournament)

        HMMMMMM

        Steam Sale you say?????

        I might just wait and get replacements for my old old Half-life, Ops For, and Blue Shift. Yeah I know they, right now, are combined about $14.99 BUT if they go on sale...... along with the original Unreal (that was fun with CTF, deathmatch and jailbreak) AND DOOM AND Wolfenstein (already cheap too)
        I'm lost without a paddle and headed up SH*T creek.

                There is always a Steam Sale "coming" ^_^ As for the Summer and Winter/XMAS ones, we all know what to do -- Wishlist any games you want, and wait until they hit 75% off to buy. On the final day, almost everything they sell will drop to their lowest prices of the sale.

                Generally speaking, Summer sales generally either start in late June, or the second-ish week of July. Either way, count on them beginning on a Thursday or Sunday and lasting just under two weeks. Fall/Winter: Halloween (3-4 days), Thanksgiving week (5ish days);
                Winter sale is often about a week before and after XMAS Day, usually ending on Jan 2~3 or so.

                  I didn't. XD I don't actually use Steam all that much. The last time I really did anything with it, I think, was on my birthday last year because a friend of mine bought me Garry's Mod. So thanks for the tip. ^_^

                            Came here to say that ^_^

                            Soooo, I'll just make a random plug, instead. Do you like steampunk (or can you at least tolerate it)? Do you like the Infinity Engine-type games (Baldur's Gate/Icewind Dale/Fallout 1 & 2/Pillars of Eternity)? Then head on over to GOG and get yerself a copy of Arcanum: of Steamworks and Magick Obscura. Right. Frakking. NOW. It's a buck fifty.

                            Oh yeah -- If yer short on cash, click the Games tab, and then click Price -- one of the options to filter so that you only see the free games...some of which are actually full retail titles that ain't half bad!

                              I tried Arcanum before, and I could never get it to run on my machine. Kept blue-screening on launch...
