  • Amusing avatars

Looking through this forum, as well as others, I always notice the little picture or GIF that people choose to display with every post. I think they're called avatars, not sure though. Anyway, is it just me, or does anyone else picture the person doing whatever the pic or gif is doing For example, if the pic is dancing, my mind thinks of the dancing figure on a computer, dancing while posting. It's especially funny if the post is angry, so I think 'angrily dancing'?
Also, why did you pick that pic or GIF? Unless it's absurdly obvious why. Like mine, that's what my late late late night guests look like to me: scary BTW if a person hasn't picked a pic, I picture them as typing away like normal for some reason...

Mine is the mouse from Mouse Soup, after he escapes Weasel and goes home to finish his book. Arnold Lobel is one of my favorite children's authors.

Mine is a little thing I whipped up to go along with my signature, and I later added my user title "Pedestrian of the Apocalypse" to go with it.

Hmmm...Ginny Weasley! Your user name sort of gives it away :P I completely agree that AliceXZ is wonderful. I love her stuff!

Mine's my spirit animal. I love how deadpan she is.

Aubrey Plaza is funny. If they ever make a "Daria" movie, she needs to play Daria.

Anyway, my avatar is just basically a picture of me...clean shaven and "Simpsonized".

My only complaint with the avatars is sometimes they have teeny-tiny text on them that can't be read...

And you just know it's funny or relatable somehow...

In showing me the first episode, my niece quipped that she has both a friend and uncle named Karl.

I tried to hunt for a good example of the sort of PAAAANTS that one of GK's sucktomers out in the wilderness of Canada would order...
“There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old’s life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged.
One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world.
The other, of course, involves orcs." -- John Rogers
