  • Goddamint Post NL!

This is really frustrating the hell out of me and I need to vent before I end up making being an asshole to someone who doesn't deserve it.

About a month ago, I finally saved up enough money to order myself some new clothes online. I spend a day and a half making sure I had the correct measurements for my body, and that these were exactly the clothes I wanted. Hey, this stuff is expensive, and I don't wanna get the wrong thing.

I placed my order. No problems. I was told it would be roughly 5 to 10 business days through Netherlands Post (Post NL).

A month has now passed and I still don't have my stuff. I have been tracking the items, and according to the Post NL tracking site, they arrived in Australia on the 26th of June. I called Australia Post, and according to them, it hasn't hit the customs center and they suspect it isn't in the country. I've asked that they start an inquiry on their end to find the items.

Post NL though? Absolutely useless responses so far. I'm going absolutely batty, as I think I've been fairly patient. I'm trying to remain polite, but I'm getting fairly exasperated at their habit of telling me "here's your tracking number, it'll get there when it gets there. Wait, actually it's already there. Wait, maybe not. Anyway, keep checking the tracker." Way to keep me going around in circles guys.

I'm giving it a 24 hours before I start getting firm about getting a direct answer. Don't get me wrong, I'm doing everything I can to remain polite and calm, but this is phenomenally bad service.

I ordered stuff from the Netherlands last year and it took about six weeks to get to me, and that was even with a 7-14 business day expected delivery. Contacting Post NL was entirely useless, but the company was really good - they offered to replace my items at no cost and find a more reliable way to ship. I told them I'd wait until it had been eight weeks, and when I did get the package finally I called the company to let them know I'd received it. I didn't tell them that it looked a bit like the box was used as a football, but there was nothing fragile in it so as long as everything was in there (it was, thankfully) there was no need to mention the state of the box. Besides, it wasn't the company's fault.

Yeah, I'm not gonna get mad at the clothing company (Dracula Clothing) because they've literally done nothing wrong. I doubt they're willing to resend $300 worth of clothing though, and in all honesty, I couldn't ask them to.

Seriously though, what's going on in the Netherlands that their postal service is this awful?

        They're in Dutch.

(I've got a smidgen of Dutch ancestry through New Hamsterdam... distantly related to both Presidents Roosevelt... )

Well then, things I've to avoid in other countries:
1: France - The train system on national holidays. Your train may be cancelled without warning and literally nobody cares.
2: Netherlands: The postal system ever. They don't know where your stuff went and they don't care.

*Update!* NL Post is adamant that they sent the item out to Australia on the 20th, and that it arrived on the 26th.. I've now had to launch an enquiry through Australia Post to figure out where the hell my stuff is. Currently waiting to hear from NL Post to see if I can launch an enquiry on their end too. They may request that the sender be the one to start things. If so, I'm gonna be pretty upset.

I had to create a Twitter account for this shit.
