I've got a few...Most of them are book series, only the first is one specific book. The second kinda describes both one book, and the series it's part of, to an extent.

Evolution gets a jumpstart in ages past! What will become of us when it happens again in the modern day?

        ---

Genetically-engineered, flying, psychic monstrosities save humanity from the threat of ravenous alien spores! But are these beasts truly friend or foe?

        ---

A barber's son gleans wisdom from the scorn of his fellows! But will he use this wisdom to help him get the girl of his dreams?

        ---

A brilliant adventurer and his staunch companion seek out new worlds, adopt entirely new forms, and even leap through time! But, is it real, is it fantasy, or is it something in between?

        ---

Aliens and time travelers walk among us! Was YOUR family paid cold hard cash to give you the gift of life?!?

The only two of mine you missed were Faust and "The Lord of the Rings". I'll give ya credit for Carrie, because as Seanette said you likely meant Christine.
