Jeans and a t-shirt all the way, unless I'm rocking one of my Brewers jerseys.

I wear sweatpants and boots, because both are comfortable. I also wear sweater jackets, even in the summer, for my own reasons. To me, fashion is a big waste of money I simply don't have. Why shouldn't I be comfortable since I'm too fat to be stylish?Customers should always be served . . . to the nearest great white.

Hm. Well, the house burnt down August 2015 and I ended up needing to buy an all new wardrobe, all I had was what I escaped from the house wearing.
1 lightweight parka [sage green and almost black, 10% grey in photo terms]
1 formal/semiformal gown in navy with beads and sequins. I need to remember to get some hosiery and fancy lingerie for the cruise ...
3 pair jeans [black, brown and blue]
2 pair cargo sweat pants [grey and royal blue]
10 thermal tshirts, assorted colors, short sleeve
2 thermal tshirts, grey and royal blue, long sleeve
2 10 packs panties, 90% cotton, 10% spandex, assorted colors and patterns
4 bras, front hook, no underwire, 90% cotton, 10% spandex, assorted colors/patterns
4 pair sports socks, some super fabric that wicks and whatnot, 2 pr black, 2 pr white
4 pair comfy socks, chenille, assorted colors and patterns, 1 pair taller and in chartreuse with hot pink polkadots for wearing with my boots
1 pair beach shoes
1 pair boots
1 pair sneakers/cross trainers, new balance - whatever my orthopod recommended for my foot issues
3 pair mary jane flats, leather, fancy cutwork - black, brown, oxblood red
2 french terry bathrobes
2 turby towels [these turban microfiber hair specific towels
7 tank tops, assorted colors [for some damned reason if I wear tshirts, I overheat but if I wear tank tops to sleep in I dont get night sweats - who knew covering my armpits made me overheat?!]
and luckily my SEAL panties and my Ranger panties survived as they were at my parents house in my old bedroom with a couple pair of flannel dorm pants, and 4 or 5 assorted tshirts from assorted conventions or game companies [I got given promotional bling for doing beta testing and random customer service for game companies over the years] so I sort of lied when I said everything burnt up ... oops.
So I have significantly less wardrobe than the average college kid living in a dorm. I think every stitch of clothing I own will fit into a seabag and my MOLLE pack, and one suit bag. Add a case to hold my laptop [ASUS RoG gaming laptiop] matching AUSU Transformer tablet and assorted wires and wall wart stuff and I am pretty mobile. I could probably manage to evacuate everything I really own in the mom van even if I added camping gear. I could probably manage to live in an oversized conversion Sprinter in a pinch if it were converted like Kusanagi did with the work van. I would seriously miss my husband though =(EVE Online: 99% of the time you sit around waiting for something to happen, but that 1% of action is what hooks people like crack, you don't get interviewed by the BBC for a WoW raid.

These are SO my favorite thing. I bought this a few months ago https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Despite the sizing being AWFUL, I love this dress. Being as the sizing is so bad, I just now lost enough weight to be able to zip it up. I could wear the 50's style dresses every day

Oh, I love Fashion! Great song from David Bowie!
Oh, wait, you mean clothing...Yeah, couldn't care less. When I was a teen, I tried to follow what fashion I could on my appallingly limited budget. I'd look through the fashion magazines, cringe at the prices and try to find something roughly similar.
One year, one teen mag said the big summer daytime fashion was...a black wool dress. Yes, you read that right. And I lived in Phoenix. So that was the day I learned that the fashion world was baloney.I don't have an attitude problem. You have a perception problem.

Here are some pictures that capture my general fashion sense (mostly '20s and '30s, some '40s):
http://www.fintage.net/blogi/wp-cont.../4.1.2014a.jpg I have shoes like that and a cord skirt that color.
https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com...747376415e.jpg I look like this at work often, except that the jacket is a loose cardigan.
https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com...2e916a91f1.jpg I wear wiiiiiide pants to work but the top would be for my day off.
https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com...4ece2d3f81.jpg I don't wear scarves like that (I should start). That trend is by no means new at all. I haven't seen this movie yet, but I know that scene is set in sex ed class. The look on Clara Bow's face--priceless."Is it hot in here to you? It's very warm, isn't it?"--Nero, probably

I wore something very similar to this:

when I got married. Except the bolo tie was round and gold-colored. I had on an oval gold-colored belt buckle, black jeans, black Ropers, and a maroon shirt. And no, the guy in the picture isn't me...Last edited by mjr; 11-23-2016, 03:09 AM.Skilled programmers aren't cheap. Cheap programmers aren't skilled.

After wearing a button-down shirt for work for the past 6 years, and adding a few pounds around my midsection, I tend to prefer to wear a button-down shirt with a collar.
I absolutely hate polo shirts. I'll wear a t-shirt before I wear one of those things again. I associate them with the hell job I had in MO for two years where a "short" week was 60 hours on-site. I typically worked on salary 70 hours each week, and 80 hour weeks were far more common than a 60 hour week.
Given a choice in apparel, I trend towards late-1940s and early-1950s.

I'm plus size. My typical brands are Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren and Gabby Skye, particularly with dresses. Why? They have a predictable fit on my body and are well made. I am very rarely disappointed, and that's great with online purchases.
For me, spending extra on a high end brand is all about the quality. Something from Wal-Mart might look alright at first but it falls apart quickly, in most cases. And very often I can't find anything that looks nice in the first place. Although I have to admit, I'm not sure the brands I buy are all that high end. I mean, they're not cheap but they're not THAT expensive for plus size clothing, especially when I buy them on sale...

I think the OP was more talking about people who obsess over fashion. Some people get visibly upset when they see a "major fashion faux pas." I spend a little extra on Sketchers because they have been consistently the most comfortable work shoe that I've come across. Buying what fits and what lasts is just good sense.Quoth Aria View PostI'm plus size. My typical brands are Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren and Gabby Skye, particularly with dresses. Why? I think the style that Food Lady wears is really sharp looking. I was looking at some photos of my grandparents in the 40s and I was like "her shoes are so cute!" Actually, though it's hard to see in the pic, I'd probably like her dress, too.

I should post some pics of my actual outfits. Today I think I looked like a school marm with my cord skirt, spectator heeled oxfords, bow blouse, and cardigan. Meanwhile it's casual week at the office....
Also, Aria, I think so. I did see a '20s trend the last few years and if you look at Eva Mendes' line (at New York & Co.) you can see a '30s vibe. I find http://www.amerimark.com/ to be a good source for shoes and http://bedfordfair.blair.com/ for clothes.Last edited by Food Lady; 11-24-2016, 04:28 AM."Is it hot in here to you?
