I actually got the movie on Tues, from my library. I was the 50th person on the hold list for the 26 copies, but I used my librarian skillz to move myself up the line

I sort of like the first book and last book. I havn't read the other two, though I'm reading the "rough draft" of Midnight Sun (It's a rough draft? but it sounds like the final drafts of the other books, ie, no polishing). First book I guess I read because I'll read anything. The last book, it was just bad fan fic, which is fun. Bella knocked up? Baby killing her? Edward offers Jacob a poke at Bella since Bella wants a baby, and if she would allow an abortion, she can have Jacob's baby? Imprinting? Though the ending is like having Captain Picard there, with just all the negotiations.

But I watched the DVD. I liked how Billy Black tries to "keep it real with the kids" and Charlie has some good lines. Bella is self-absorbed a lot, but I do love the actress in it. The melodrama is cute, though when Bella starts talking about how she doesn't like the rain, I get a flash-back to "AotC" when Anakin starts speaking about the sand. And thank God the fight at the end was awesome, because Meyer didn't do that...I guess she doesn't know how to write fight scene.s

Now the commentary was good. Tehre were some periods of no commentary, and it wasn't the "oh, sex scene, ah....ok, sex scene is done, let's talk about how they got out of that jam."

I loved Rob's commentary, esp. how he would ask "what is vitimin R?" "what is double clutching the clutch?" "Why doesn't James kill Edward and Bella (at Charlie's house)? That's so stupid." Of course, the director tells him just be pretty. And latter she jokes they were getting a hotter actor to play Edward in the next movie.
And I love his point about his eyebrows. They are freakin' huge things.
The three talked about how hard is was filming, like the wires used that gave Rob scars, how cold it was in the gazabo dancing scene. For people who want to know making of movies, there is a featurette about making the movie.

One day in 2005 a bored Hina was looking for a book. She found one that seemed kind of interesting. It was not. It was bad, but the writing wasn't horrible so she finished the book. IT was a cliffhanger. As much as she hated this book she knew she needed a definitive ending.

In the summer of 2007, Hina discovers there is in fact a second and third book. She receives them as gifts. March 2008 she gets week long influenza. With nothing else to do she reads the books. Perhaps through boredom, cabin fever, or some influenza based insanity, our young Hina finds she kind of likes these books. There are so many things to hate, but she can't hate the books.

When it is time for the final book she buys it. It is worse than the last three. Yet, better.

My theory is the pages are lace with heroine, and when you lick your fingers you injest it. That is the only way to explain why I enjoy something that makes me feel so ashamed. Plus, it's really badly written and stupid.

Bella has the personality of moss with esteem issues. AND I LIKE THE BOOKS!
