So, my Salt Lake City CSers, I can use your help here. My friend who is getting married has taken care of most things for the wedding, but there is one thing she is still searching for....a good hair salon that does good up do's. Since she lives in Texas, not Utah, she doesn't really know a place offhand. Can any of you SLCers recommend one? Thanks.

What a great thing Jester to be able to go home. Yay to awesome real Mexican food, hope it goes as planned.
It is a great thing. And we all know that it NEVER goes as planned. That's half the fun!

You two DO know that I have been known to get rather violent with people who piss me off, right? What's that phrase I've used in the past? Oh, yes......do NOT fuck with Jester. And I mean that in every sense, Sheldon! Bad things happen to those who fuck with Jester.

You have not only earned a reprieve, but a salivating Jester who is now making Crown Burger a must stop on his SLC tour. So, should I go to the original one or the rather unique #2? Anyone? Anyone?

After all, I am Jewish, I LOVE pastrami. A pastrami burger? Never had one. Want one. To quote my friend Saydrah, WAAAANNNTTTT!!!

I'm hardly worried. I live in freakin' Key West, for goodness sake, and am friends with many gay men, including the captain of the gay catamaran cruise that they joking refer to as "Beef on the Reef." Gay guys hitting on me? Not scary. Not even that unusual. Yawn. Please. Scare me? No.

Well, you could hit them all, and trade your ride home for a double-wide. Mostly it would depend on where you're parking your dairy air, and your transportation. I usually hit the 33rd S & Highland because I can pop off the bus, order, and catch the next bus, but I've been to at least 6 of the locations and they're all great.

Re: your request about hair salons: Where is Cat camping? SL valley is 30 miles long & 20 wide, so I'd expect Cat would prefer a place close to her base.

I asked my daughter where she got her hair styled. Responce? "Dad, it's a lot more than you'd pay!"
Her spot is Brick House Retreat which is 18 miles south of the city center.

Cute, Sheldon. But the Phoenix area is not the area with a lodging issue for me. Between my parents and at least three different friends, Phoenix is never a problem for lodging for me.

We were talking about Salt Lake City.

And no, you are not putting it in. At least not in ME.

, but a salivating Jester who is now making Astro Burger a must stop on his SLC tour.

                          .
edited for accuracy... Crown and Astro are equivalent for burgers, but Astro's fries normally win hands down... that and 39th and state is easier to get to than 33rd and Highland and Dalesys suggested
That and at Astro the owner is there almost every day... you'll normally find him filling in wherever someone is needed, and if it's slow he'll sometimes go out and chat with customers... you just don't get that type of attention most places anymore.

Jester, one other point to remember: Utah weather!

First half of May we may see:
                            Low 30s with snow...
                            Mid 80s and full sun...
Anywhere inbetween with rain (cold) ... we don't get warm rain here ever!
And we can see the full range in a day or two!

                            Tornados: very rare
                            Torrential sustained rain: very rare
                            Occasional high winds.
Terrified flatlanders creeping along roads with mountain one side & nothing the other: common

I don't know where we'll be. I'll find out. Though for good food, I won't let a minor thing like distance stop me.

As for Cat, she will go wherever the hair salon is. I know her. Trust me. Distance is NOT an issue. Nor is driving.

As for the Retreat, duly noted. Thank you.

EDITED TO ADD: Cat just asked me about places/things to do for a bachelor party (his, not hers) the night before the wedding. Suggestions?
