Boozy, I saw my pain specialist yesterday. I told him my husband was in the hospital, since my husband usually goes with me to my appointments.

So, I told him my leg is getting worse. The pain shoots down the leg, or it tingles or it's numb. He had me do a stretch that made me yip in pain. He told me that it has now turned from a inflamed sciatic nerve to a pinched nerve, but he didn't want to do the surgery right away, with my husband just being in the hospital. He upped my pain medications (that I can't take during the day) and if the pain hasn't gone away in the next few weeks he would schedule the surgery.

I can't walk more than a few feet or stand for too long before it starts hurting like a SOB. It does make me a bit on cranky side, but I try not to let it show too much.

Mis, thank your husband and his doctors for us for not making us a group of liars by telling you it would work out.

And good luck with your pinched nerve. While I have never had one, I have seen what such a thing has done to friends, and it is obviously not the most entertaining way to spend a Friday night!

Jester, before we left to go home I did thank his nurses and the aides for taking such good care of him. His doctor was never there at the same time I was, so I didn't get a chance to thank him.

I also want to thank you and the others who helped calm me down and were so supportive. You guys rock!
