I've tried my prescription strength naproxen...and nothing. Seriously, I've tried tylenol, ibuprofen, excedrin...nothing seems to make much of a dent.

Yeah, blas, the doctor seemed to imply that if I'd just exercise that my stress levels would be lower and therefore, fewer headaches. He didn't mention exactly when I was supposed to find time to exercise, since one of my problems is that there's too much to do! And I'm not cutting my sleep time down any more, thankyouverymuch. I know I'm overweight, but it has nothing to do with why my right temple feels like it wants to explode!

      because I have sex,
Wait, what? Are you serious? Your dr is blaming your headaches on sex? I thought that having sex released some kind of hormone or chemical that helps RELIEVE headaches.

Back to AA, I too think it's utter crap that your dr won't even consider that you're getting migraines. Although, from your description, your headaches don't sound like migraines...not the kind I get. I get the ones where I have to curl up in a completely dark, silent, odor-less room with ice pressed on my head/neck/shoulders and a bucket within arms-reach for when I'm ready to throw up. Part of it is because I have a vertebrae out of line in my upper neck. My chiropractor and I have been working on it for a few months now and thankfully it's gotten much better. Have you tried seeing a chiropractor? Many MDs will tell you evil things about them and that you should never go to one, but I love mine. He's helped me in so many ways, not just with my neck. (I had lower back and hip issues when I first started seeing him, and he's cleared both of those up!)

I'm glad your new glasses are better and I hope you find some relief with your headaches...I would look for a second opinion if you can!

I was exaggerating a little on that, although my doctor tends to blame everything "wrong" with me on my lifestyle...which, in all reality, is not even that different than most people's.

I'd have to see if there were any covered by my craptacular insurance, but I doubt it. The health clinic might have one, but again, can't go there until August. Yay.

However-- If Midrin does not do a thing for the pain, it's probably not migraines.
            .
Not true, midrin now is almost useless for me and I have graduated to frova .... and midrin isnt a magic bullet, it sometimes does not work on people ... migraineurs are very annoying for doctors because what will work like magic for some people is like eating candy for others ...

I used Midrin back in the late 80's/early 90's. All it did for me was make me sleepy. I could sleep through a migraine without it. I needed something for the pain then, so that I could continue to function. It's no wonder I missed so many college classes/work study hours and barely passed my 1st year with a 2.75 GPA.
