The only thing I see so far is that momma has fleas, which means babies have fleas. Fleas can make newborns very sick, give them anemia. So in a little while I am going to have to pick up each baby, lay it on a clean white towel, and pick off fleas and drown them in soapy water.

hmmm I highly recommend getting a flea comb-it's like a lice comb but for fleas-works really well actually-totally rid one of my former dogs and two of my former cats of fleas within a week of daily brushing.
Honestly.... the image of that in my head made me go "AWESOME!"..... and then I remembered I am terribly strange.-Red dazes

I posted an ad on Craigslist asking for suggestions or help. We'll see if I get any answers...

I called around today, and every single shelter in Portland is full to capacity. I think it probably has to do with the economy. The only place that will take them is animal control. And I don't want to turn them over to animal control, Momma kitty is sooooooo sweet.

        I don't know what I'm gonna do.
If you can't find a place to take them with in the next month or so I would be more than willing to meet you half way. Spokane Still has a lot of available space in our No Kill shelters. We could arrange a meeting and The Beau and I could bring them to one of the shelters up here. ^_^ Every kitty deserves a good home and a good chance!

Just let me know if you need us to!

          Update!

So... I am now an official foster mom for the following rescue organization:

          http://www.ofosa.org/

I will be keeping the family until they are old enough to adopt out. The rescue will pay for them to be vaccinated and fixed before being adopted. A lady stopped by today and she brought tea tree shampoo I can use to kill fleas on the babies, as well as cans of wet food for Mama to help her gain some weight.

Apparently they have a hard time finding foster homes for cats with litters of kittens. So after this litter is done, I may very well be given more to care for.

I am very excited, I looooooooooooove kitties. I am going to start a youtube channel to film the kitties on as they grow. Probably won't get to that til next week though.

Thank you to everyone who offered help...all the kitties are going to be okay. Yay!

That's awesome! I would love to do something like that, but I can't have pets here. I'd have a hard time giving them up, though. I'm thinking about going to a local animal shelter and volunteering to socialize kitties and puppies.

Have you ever seen the Itty Bitty Kitty Committee? It's a blog by a woman who fosters kittens. So cute!

                http://s267.photobucket.com/albums/i...n13/beths2wks/

New pictures of a few of them.

They are about two weeks old now. They have all opened their eyes and have realized there is stuff outside their box, which they are intensely curious about but they can't walk yet, so they just peek over the side and watch the goings on in my apartment.

They have also begun to play with each other a little, and are developing personalities. The temporary names I gave them may end up changing due to the fact that I am not sure of sex yet.

The orange one I named Bacchus because he was the biggest newborn and fought the hardest for the nipple. Lusty for life, like Bacchus, Roman God of wine. He has become the tough guy of the litter. If he hears a strange sound he will turn towards it and hiss and spit.

Ajax, the gray/black striped one is the adventurer. He is constantly trying to get out of his box, and once he starts walking he is probably going to be all over the apartment.

One of the white twins (I can't tell them apart yet, lol) is also a peeker, although she is more shy about it. She just peeks over the edge and ducks back down if something moves too fast for her. Her twin is a lazy bum, he prefers to sleep all day and fight Bacchus for the nearest nipple.

And Timeus, the little black one. He's a bit smaller than the rest, a little more timid, and he is a crier. Boy that one has got some lungs!

Anyways, I hope you enjoy the pics, even if I didn't get all of them.

AwwwwwKITTIES I'd take one in an instant if we were anywhere near you (and if the "grumpy old man" furball in the house would approve, which we're not sure of).

, the white one with just the top of the head and the eyes peeking over the edge of the box...toooooo cute. The little marmlade is a cutie, too.

I am sooo trying to convince myself that I don't need a kitten. I'm moving in a month and will be able to have 2 cats. But, I don't know how Sir Casey would feel about sharing his kingdom.

*SQUEEEEE* I wish we could have pets. I would be down there in a heartbeat.

So cute. I think the twins would have to come home with me.

                        *hugs*
