Your saga is a foreshadowing of what my life is going to be like if we have anymore contact with my husband's family.

My poor husband. He thinks he's his mother's favorite son. He's not. It's her middle son who has given her two "gorgeous" and "skinny" blonde & blue eyed granddaughters. As if a brown-eyed brunette is anything to sneeze at. *points to avatar pic* I mean, really ... how can you deny the beauty of my Child Rum?

you know i am not married my longest lasting relationship ending on him running to the hills but i do think i have good advice for this from my family problems.

sit down with your husband and tell him you are not going to force your children to be nice to his mother and for now on you will openly state so to them.
he maybe mad but honestly any arquement he can come up with you can counter easily.

i dont talk to my grandparents because my father put me 5 grandn in debt and they had the nerve to complain to everyone on his side of the family that we where horrible awful children because we wont help him financelly and he paid for our cell phones.

when he was paying for all our cells phones to PAY ME BACK! our part of the phone bill, seeing as he used 1000 minutes a month and we used 500 was 80 dollars and 20 of that was meimei's internet service on her blackberry. the rest was 100 dollars. basically my brother refused to pay for some odd reason i still haven't figured out and my sister paid 40 a month to my dad which he gave right back to me and paid my part of the bill. and i wound up helping him about 40-30 dollars each month anyways.
supposedly he is suppose to have by now payed be back.......840 dollars. hes payed me back maybe......... 20 dollars.
yeah we are completely uncrateful brats.

If she is going to treat the family like that, this year send everything back to her and tell her in no uncertain terms that she will accept the whole family, or she can sod off.

We have severed relations with the stepmother in law, mrDrones actual mother is great ... the stepmonster is another story.

I dare say the two are related. If his sister remembers Mom's birthday, but he doesn't, can anyone really be all that surprised that she conveniently forgets to call him? (I have no idea if sis does call mom, but if so, there's your answer.)



And that is why she does what she does to you, and why she favors your husband's children with another woman over yours.

Logical? No. Rational? No. Reasonable? No.

But logic, rationality, and reason have nothing to do with such things.

Yes, your MIL is a raving bitch. But you pretty much pointed out why she does some of the things she does in your own postings. Sure, she's petty. But you can (and in my opinion should) rise above it, and her.

Okay, so I can see her being upset with her son for not calling her, so she doesn't call him. It's not something I would do, but okay.

I do not apologize for being upset with her for the way she treats my children though, because I get all mama bear on the person who thinks nothing of messing with my children and I don't care who the person is.

I don't put down my MIL in front or around my children, so them not wanting to talk to her did not come from me, they made up their own minds on that matter.
