In the UK you do not want your teams rivals to win under any circumstances. I currently live in Liverpool and Liverpool fans do not want Manchester United or Everton to win a coin toss, let alone a game. It is the same for United when it comes to Liverpool and for the Americans on this board who are into British soccer, could you imagine Celtic fans wanting Rangers to win anything and vice versa?

In my home city (Hull) there is a big rivalry between the city's two rugby teams and if my team, Hull Kingston Rovers, loses to Hull it takes me days to get over it. Even when Hull were in the Grand Final (our equivalent of the superbowl) a couple of years ago I couldn't bring myself to want them to win.

By bandwagon I mean the Yankee "fans" who've never heard of Mickey Mantle, or the Sox fans who don't know who Carl Yazstremski is.

The beer vendors in Baltimore will quiz the "fans" of Boston & NY when they come to town and it's amazing how much they don't know.
Why just Carl? Jim, Rico, Tony, Ted, Fred, Dwight, Carlton (and the foul pole), Luis, just to name a few.

BTW - I got to see Dwight at his "return to Fenway" game once as well as seeing Jim hit one into the lights (years prior).

Oh, and I will NEVER name any of my children Bill or Bucky nor will I ever allow any of them to have that nickname.

I couldn't care less about the Yankees or the Red Sox, which are evidently the only two baseball teams in America according to ESPN.

I save all my hatred for the Cubs.
Quoted in it's entirety for truth.
        I'm bringing disdain back...with a vengeance.

Oh, and your tool box called...you got out again.

My roommate says "No." (She grew up in Jersey and went to college in Boston.)

I am a Yankee fan. I couldn't really care less about the rest, as long as the Mets lose. (That said, I don't really follow any sports, but I do enjoy a game now and then.)

My dad roots for the Yankees, the As and whoever's playing the Mets.
