Well, the fact that I drive around in my car and usually my kid is with me, wanting to listen to Dan Zane, Hanson, or my friend Maugie (he's a folkie) pretty much negates any radio listening I might otherwise be doing.

The fact that I shop on Amazon for all my Christmas shopping keeps me out of the stores.

And the fact that I don't have any sort of cable or satellite service whatsoever, and all my TV is coming through a Roku box, so no commercials whatsoever, either.

I just realized I am just about a recluse. Life is good.

(Although I did go to the mall today because my kid had saved up some money and then got a 12 dollar Build a Bear coupon she wanted to cash in for a pink unicorn, and while I was there, I saw Christmas shit hanging from the ceiling.)

I'm with you on that. One holiday at a time--and in order.
You didn't get the memo? Three years ago, Thanksgiving was officially renamed "Mini-Christmas" and you're actually supposed to serve reindeer instead of turkey.

        Simple. Thanksgiving is lame.

Really. Especially if you could give three damns about football. I like it because it gives me a long enough weekend to go home, hang out with family, put up Christmas decorations, and eat lots of yummy things, like deep-fried turkey. But what else is there? I dunno, like I said before, I'm excited about Christmas and love walking through the store displays.

Well, see, I like it because my sister and my cousin come home, and we get together and visit, but it's so much more laid back that Christmas is. Basically, you can cross a field from my parent's plact to my cousin's place, so we hang out between houses all day. And, of course, the Friday after is "Girls Martini Lunch Out" where my mom, my sister, my cousin, my OTHER cousin who is her mom, and my little daughter go out for lunch together. And I really enjoy that.

The funny part is that all the guys get together and go shopping on that day.

Since my great uncle passed, nobody watches football.

In Chicagoland, the culprit is The Lite. No they haven't started yet, but they are promoting (warning?) the Christmas music. This is cute [major sarcasm]: Correctly guess the day they start to win a spa day.
I'm trying to see things from your point of view, but I can't get my head that far up my keister!

either the Breeze (104.3) or the Bay (99.7) They both started all Xmas on Sunday
And both are listened to in the back of the deli when I'm not in charge of the radio. Three guesses as to what station I listen to.

                The bagpipe station?
                I'm bringing disdain back...with a vengeance.

The one station around here doesn't start their 24/7 Christmas music until after Thanksgiving. I'm sorry that you have to listen to it now.

The thing is...that one station is my favorite--it plays 60/70/80s music. So I have nothing to listen to for a month when I go to and from work. I'm not going to listen to Christmas music on the commute, then work long shifts listening to the same stuff...argh!

The other station that I listen to just changed formats/names after stunting for like four days...I don't like it when radio stations randomly decide to change.
