I take my original 4-8 and raise it 8-12....

So far, we have 11 inches here, and it's still not done.

And I was plowed in this morning at work. Grand.

          Fuck you, Frosty.
at least 12 (officially) but with the drifts much much more.

I can see at least 6 inches of snow on the utility wires outside my 2d story window. first snow of the season and it was a MONSTER of a storm. DAMN well I guess my fellow citizens wil now get a CRASH course on winter driving. no little lessons this time around. one big FUCK YOU learn how to drive :lol

GF did not go into work this morning cause the city has not plowed our area yet. took 2 hours to dig the cars out and shovel a path out to the middle of the street.

I know work tonight it will be a FUN night cause they will NOT have all of the streets plowed until at least tomorrow. Just hope I do not get stuck.

and yes I agree Blas FUCK FROSTY WITH A HOT CURLING IRON.

As I'm reading this, here in Pittsburgh...it's sunny outside. Of course I don't know what the temp is, but it's much warmer than yesterday...and there's no high wind to deal with. I have a feeling we're going to get *hammered* when the snows finally get here

Well, my school closed for the first time since the 70's because Gov Doyle ordered us to.

Governor Doyle declared a state of emergency Tuesday.

Well, I'm back home again. The roads are much better now. Except.....they still haven't plowed the parking lot here.

Good thing I didn't stick around....I'm sure my neighbors had a great time Tues and Weds getting around......nice to know that when it snows 2 inches, the landlord and the plow guy are pounding on everyone's door harrassing them to park on the street so they can plow, but when we get a foot, it takes nearly 2 days after the storm to plow it!

Re: the railways and their employees... they have employees on duty 24/7. Mostly in revenue service during the day, mostly on engineering during the night. Either set would be able to run a Dv12 or two with a plough attached if required, and the point-heaters are always in operation in winter.

Well, I'm spotting some bad weather next week, during my finals. My last exam is on Thursday at 5 pm and my grandpa won't be able to pick me up until the next day. Of course, bad weather predicted for that Friday. I have to talk to the Mathematics Department Head about moving my final up to Tuesday, for safety's sake.

                          I really hate winter.

Yeah, I work there, we have shifts that run 24/7 but the people to run the machines still have to be able to get in to work and with the storm we got on Friday, over half the people couldn't get there, we still have a couple that can't, there roads still haven't been unburied, city has more important priorites. We've managed to get the yard cleaned up and running at full capacity again though. Point heaters also have to be installed to work, small yard, they're not in the budget.

                              Paging Dr. Kevorkian...

Due to the snowy weather and bad roads earlier this week, the DC cancelled our truck for yesterday and sent it tonight instead.

                              It's close to 1900 cartons.

And we're short a person, because our manager had to adjust schedules and try to cobble together enough people to unload the truck tonight, and she needed somebody who otherwise would've worked with us tomorrow morning.

And it's the biggest one-day sale of the year tomorrow, with doorbusters and giveaways for people who spend more than $50. We're expected to do over $100,000 in sales, and I think we will, seeing as how it's supposed to be warmer tomorrow than it has been the past couple of days.
