Never saw Dark Crystal, either. Sad, I know.

However, not only have I seen the movie "Willow," I've met Willow (Warwick Davis), and done magic tricks for him!

(I had to redeem myself somehow in this thread, right?)

          Sting would have been awesome.

I LOVE Labyrinth, and I had my haircut recently where I actually felt the need to take myspace photos of.. because the way the dresser styled it, it looked like David Bowie hair and I was squeaking and bouncing and all the ladies in the shop were confused as to why I would have any desire to resemble David Bowie.
And on the topic of the Dark Crystal, if anyone who reads this thread plays WoW, in Outland, hellfire peninsusla, there are these creatures called "Haal'eshi" and they look EXACTLY like the bird monster things in the Dark Crystal. They is creepy...
Also, there is a Winter Veil character (in WoW) named "Wulmort Jinglepocket", which strangely makes me think of "Walmart jingles their pockets". Anyone else see that? Blizzard has a tendency for sticking a lot of pop culture into their games.

Labyrinth and The Dark Crystal had some excellent puppetry as well as acting and a great storyline. (BTW - IMO puppets and models are FAR better than CGI any day). Plus, any Trekker knows that one of the favorite senior cast members (Dr Crusher - Gates McFadden) is also an established choreographer and puppet master and did a lot of work with these two films, also.
So that's why one woman in the Making of seemed familiar!

I agree with you on the puppets to a certain extent, if it's possible to be done with puppets, it should at least be attempted.

Actually, they had considered Michael Jackson, Sting and Bowie, though I think they went straight to asking Bowie instead.

One of the most incredible things about the movie is, you know the crystal bal juggling scenes? They were all done by one man and not only that, he had to do it blind as he was crouched down behind Bowie.

I've not seen Dark Crystal myself and have no real interest in the Return to the Labyrinth, while I'm sure it's very good, reading the synopsis on Wikipedia, it doesn't seem like Labyrinth at all to me.

                TGWTG link FTW!

I remember seeing the movie as a kid and loving it, but I haven't seen it in a long time now.
