We're slated for a big storm Wednesday through Friday. 1/4 inch of ice, foot of snow, wind, lots of fun. If the fact that it's Monday, and the National Weather Service has already issued a Winter Storm Watch for Wednesday morning through Friday doesn't tell you what we could be in for, the fact that my friend in NC told me they're talking about it on her local news should! I'm supposed to work 12:30 to 6 on Christmas eve, but if this hits like they're predicting, I won't be going much of anywhere!

Ugh, ice storms bite....where do you live? Keep an eye on that forecast, even if they issued a watch, that is subject to change at the drop of a hat. a warning I would worried about.

They are calling for rain/sleet/ice for southern CT.....ugh...looks like I'm crashing at my parents on the 24th

Some of you will be happy to know that I get the great "joy" of dealing with temps in the 50's, 40's, and even 30's next weekend. Not in Key West, as the coldest recorded temp here is 41F, and it not slated to get anywhere near that in this, one of the warmer years down here I remember. No, I get the great joy of driving all the way up to north Florida the day after Christmas, loading up a truck and trailer with furniture and boxes the next day, and driving it back to Key West the day after that. Helping my niece move back to Key West. But north Florida looks like it's going to be very chilly for this desert/tropical boy!

          Poor Jester.

However, going back to people kayaking...I won't be impressed until you see a fully fitted out ark, complete with animals.

We're also already under a winter storm watch until Friday at 6:00 pm.

Rain/sleet/snow Wednesday night into Thursday, all snow by late Thursday, a foot of snow expected.

All I am going to say is this time, they had better start sanding and plowing the effing roads BEFORE the entire thing is over. Last time was a nightmare.

I was hoping the storm would have started earlier....it hit around 830 and was the not as pretty small icy flakes. I think the fluffy stuff hit when we went to sleep, because it was easy to shovel.

SO far the highest I heard for CT was just over a foot.
19 inches in my back yard, I'm in Canterbury. Theoretically we were not supposed to get much but I have found every place around us gets little, we get dumped upon.

Ok, you have the highest amount I've heard (someone reported 22" near me...but I know that isn't true)

I'm not liking the look of the Ice Storm, though, snow I like, ice I am not a fan of. Hoping it doesn't spoil my bf and my plans....we were gonna celebrate on the 26th.

                          works for me =)

We are glad we decided to celebrate Christmas in the beginning of January this year - traveling the usual holiday crap and adding in nasty weather should be the suck. I dread to hear what the accident rate this Christmas will end up being =(

I think we are going to be having goose for christmas dinner, we like it and I just scored one for the same price as turkey down in the navy commisary <me does a little happy dance>

Well then I sincerely hope that you are never impressed by any of my flooding stories. Because I frankly don't want to deal with that kind of mess. I saw what they had to deal with in New Orleans in 05, and I want NO part of that shit!

Call me crazy and stupid, but I'd almost rather deal with torential downpours, flooding, severe storms and whatnot rather than this snow overload BS.

Come on, two huge snowstorms in a month....over two feet of snow in just weeks. That's fucking ridiculous. So it's fair to assume that it's not going to stop snowing around here until about late April, and we'll have broken yet another record for snowfall totals every month, not to mention record below zero temps.

Screw it. We didn't even get ONE severe storm this last "summer" (or as I like to call it, Spring Stuck In Puberty).

I don't think you're crazy. I agree with you. There's a reason I live down here, even with the flooding, hurricanes, and similar bullshit!
