There's a reason I live down here, even with the flooding, hurricanes, and similar bullshit!

Among many other things, yes. Not to mention the weather that prompts females to be scantily clad most of the year.

I have to call bullshit there. We have dedicated people up nort' who will pull out the strappy heels and the shorts and tanks in mid March or April when we get our first big thaw of the season

Looks like the ice storm isn't going to be bad as forecasted....knew that human sacrifice was worth the hassle

We had mostly snow yesterday, some ice last night and this morning, more snow now since this afternoon, and supposed to be more snow tomorrow. Yippee. I was scheduled off work yesterday, got snowed out of work today, and if tomorrow goes as I want it to, I won't work then either. I already have the 26th and 27th off for my family's Christmas, so all in all, it'd be a nice 5 days off for me. Here's hoping!

              I agree, Cat.

They even took away the forecasted foot of snow once it became obvious that this whole storm was going to be mostly rain/sleet, with periods of snow when the temps dropped.

I mean, we did get a few inches last night, and it snowed for about an hour a little bit ago, but it's back to rain rain sleet sleet.

Call me impossible to please, but I'd rather actually have the snow. All snow. No rain or ice.

The snow itself WAS the blowy dusty snow that, of course, can be detrimental because it blows and makes it look worse than it really is, but is very easy to clean up and get rid of once the wind dies down. But now that there's rain and sleet, it's that packy slushy snow that you break your arm trying to get it off of your windshield!

I took the kids up to Newfound Gap yesterday. There was at least 2 foot of global warming still on the ground. They had fun.

I believe my status of "Blizzard, anyone? O__o" on Facebook says it all about today Another snow day for me, Merry Christmas to you too, Mother Nature. Of course, it would've been nice if the manager or someone (anyone ffs) had called me to tell me my shift was covered, instead of me having to call work to find out!

Hard to believe at this time last year, it was nearly 70F Christmas Day, and I was cruising around in the MG! Today, it was nearly 40F, and after the rain yesterday, most of the snow is gone. But, at least we had a white Christmas

Christmas was OK, weather wise. Cloudy all day, and a bit drizzly on my way to dinner, and I needed my umbrella when I got home around 9:30, but today was just rainy and cold windy and disgusting. I didn't go anywhere.

Tomorrow it's supposed to be sunny and in the upper 40s. I have to go do laundry, then Monday I have to be at work early, because my coworker is out and I have to do his reports in addition to mine (one of them has to go out earlier than the rest).

Monday night I'm driving straight from work to Pennsylvania (my work is 5 minutes from the Turnpike, versus 1/2 hour from my apartment), to stay at my friend's house, and we're going to the memorial for our other friend's father Tuesday morning (if I drove out Tuesday I'd have to leave by 6am and I'd really prefer not to do that). Weather.com says rain/snow showers for Monday and sunny but windy and cold on Tuesday. So fingers crossed that Monday evening is not too bad.

Was snowing when I left work around 6:00. Changed from big flakes to powdery snow. Wish it had done that Christmas Eve. Oh well.
