is this another sign the Apocalypse is nigh?
No, that will happen if the Pittsburgh Pirates ever make it to the World Series

(For those who don't know, their last one was in 1979, their last coming-close was in the early 1990s...and they've been one of the worst teams in baseball ever since.)

Back on topic, it was nice to see the Steelers *drill* Favre when the Vikings came here. That was freaking awesome!

I did not watch or listen to the game yesterday. the only reason I found out the Vikings lost was reading this thread last night. but it was all over the news this morning.

Let the whinning begin. let's see ---- ohhhhh allegeded bad referee calls, lots of interceptions and turnovers, Bretts bad ankle, Bretts bad judgement near the end of the game, fumbles, missed catches, lots of blitzes, unfair rules for overtime, and the list goes on.

The fork has been stuck in Brett and he is done. Now stay down, unless you want to look like OJ in his last gasp year playing for San Fran after a great career with Buffalo (yeah I know they traded him but still...)

I would like to see the Saints at least do well in the Superbowl.
I'm lost without a paddle and headed up SH*T creek.

There's some mad partying going on all around my state :sigh: I seriously wonder if New Orleans will be sober enough on Superbowl Sunday.?. Talk is that the partying will be harder than on any given Mardi Gras.

Every year I try to do a dish from the teams of the Super Bowl. So I am glad the Saints managed to pull it off as there are a ton of dishes from New Orleans that I can use.

            Anyways from the past:
            New England Clam Chowder
Manhattan Clam Chowder (When the Giants played the Patriots, I had both)
            Crab Cakes (for Carolina)
            Salmon Cakes (for Seattle)
Devonshire Sandwiches (for Pittsburgh, it was a recipe I found online and it was gooooood)
Some sort of bean thing for Arizona (went with "Mexican")
Chicago Pizza and dogs (Indy played Chicago and I couldn't figure out what to do for Indy...so I punted)

So now the Lions are still part of a dwindling club.

In other news, Shonn Greene got hurt and the Jets run game was neutered mid-game. The best quarterback to play in the NFL, Manning, picked apart the defense and earned today's win. It was mad close though.
I wish he had stayed another year at Iowa.. we would have been undefeated with him

Jets missed two long field goals.
                Garcon's 4-yard TD wasn't a catch but the Jets didn't challenge it.
I don't remember any controversy from the announcers over the Garcon touchdown, but there may have been.

As for the missed FG's, they were not at all out of his range or even that long. So no, not close. The Colts dominated the last 32 minutes of the game, pure and simple.

Sugar creme pie is the official pie of Indiana. Not much in the way of local cuisine. There's almost nothing but national chain restaurants out here.

Apparently there is a pork tenderloin sandwich that a restaurant there makes.

There wasn't. I'm not sure why. But every time I watch the replay of it, I see the ball moving around in his hands.

Since when isn't a 50+ yard field goal "not even that long"? It was to tie his season long of like 55 I think. The Colts defense kicking in along with Shonn Greene leaving killed the Jets.

That pork tenderloin sandwich is from Mug N Bun - it is the best tenderloin I have ever eaten. It is so big I swear you could feed a family of 4 with it. Oh, and you have to get it with the best onion rings ever. Now, I will have to go to Mug N Bun since somebody had to bring it up. Since it is on the west side of Indy and I live about 15 miles east, it is a long trip...l It's worth it, though.
