I got home 20 minutes ago. I basically slept from 10 PM until 5 AM. Finished up at the lab, grabbed some Mickey D's food & coffee on my way home and am now waiting for hubs to wake up and for child to wake up so I can get them out of the door & I can take a little ol' nap. (After washing my hair of course - I have sticky cream stuff that kept little monitor thingees attached to my head all night).

ETA: Mr. Rum got Child Rum to sleep last night. There was no World War III. So I am very relieved.

Good to know things went well at home and that it sounds like the sleep study went well? And god yeah I know about that sticky stuff in your hair to keep the monitoring pads on......

So did they say anything because I'm sure they did a tritation (sp?) to adjust the pressure. Or maybe you need to do bi pap where it adjusts itself?

I've been on the machine about 3 and 1/2 years now.....and I don't think I could sleep decently without it anymore.

Just an fyi telecom and rum, you should notify your utility/electric companies that you have a c-pap machine (you may have to have a doc fill out a form or something). They might put you on a priority list in case the power goes out, since you need a device that requires electricity.

Telecom - no bi-pap, the tech adjusted me until the pressure was 12. (Right now mine is 10 or 11). I just got a call from the company who supplies me with my c-pap machine and its accessories. They're going to send me a new smart card to adjust the pressure. (Awesome!)

Admin - I didn't realize I could do that with my electric company. I'm going to have to find the number for them and call them up.

I've been on my machine since November, 2007. And yeah, I can't sleep without it! It's wonderful.

Oh yeah, the doctor's office does the shots for flu & h1n1 so I got one in each arm (in case I have a reaction to either one - I can say OoO! Left arm, regular flu shot and then I can get it treated).

I just know that the rural electric co-op my sister works for does that, and my parents are signed up on that. Now, that doesn't mean that they spend a special emergency crew to your house, and in the event of a widespread blackout (like the one they had due to last year's ice storm that knocked over around 75% of the poles in the county) you're just as SOL as everyone else.

We have our house on the list due to my grandmother's oxygen machine. It does speed turnaround time from 4-6 hrs to 45 minutes or so for LOCALIZED outages that aren't terribly weather related. They can't go out into a raging storm, but they do hustle if the transformer at the corner blows up, which it's prone to doing a few times a year.

Around here, the doc has to make a recommendation. You should be able to call and ask them to fax the needed documentation to the power co if it's the same there.

I went to my electric company's webpage, and couldn't find any information about it on there. I might have to call in the morning.

Thanks for the head's up again!
