Heating pads are really great for cramps, although with it being so warm out almost everywhere, it kind of defeats the purpose of trying to stay cool.

        this has crossed my mind.

though they started out light, instead of DOOOOOM.

so catching them early is a good thing and i can avoid feeling like death for the most part. other than the bleeding...that feels like death haha

I know, I am not enjoying CT's heat* today....I just cleaned out my car, and I am sweating like hell.

          * Yes it not very hot, but I need to get used to the heat again.

Hysterectome, I never have to deal with it again.

Back when I did have to deal with it, I went with the total suppression thing. No sense in bleeding out when I'm not going to be popping out a sprog at any given time.

I used to alternate ice packs and heating pads on my lower abdomen for the pain and cramps, and ice packs on my lower back for the kidney area pain of the back spasms. Flexoril was my friend!

Honestly, if men went through that crap, there would have been millions spent on research to solve the issue. They would have found a way to turn it off until you wanted to pop out a kid or 2, then turn it back off again!

Sara, you can alternate Aleve, Tylenol and Advil since they're different drugs.

Thank god for the pill. Now my period makes me cranky and my cramps are annoying. When I'm not on the pill my period makes me damn near homicidal and I've puked from the pain of cramps when I'm not good about timing meds right.

You have the energy to spare from the pain to be homicidal? Must be nice . I finally got a new prescription for naproxen. (Old one was from before I went on the pill the first time, pharmacist said that it's safe to take, but will get less effective.) My problem was that my temperature was down on Tuesday. I ended up not taking one, despite the fact that I'd been eating really badly that week (conference, they didn't have any vegan food for me). This was actually good, because my period started on WEDNESDAY instead . I was up at quarter to six. I managed to make it to the soda crackers to take my naproxen, but it took half an hour to kick in. Poor Jackdaw was trying to get that extra 45 minutes of sleep.

                          I hate you! <j/k>

I begged my doctors from the time I was 17. At least at 30 I finally got my tubes tied. Now, I'm finally peri-menopausal, and am waiting for the hot flashes to cool down. Why do I live in Texas???

I wouldn't worry unless she starts visiting more than once per month, lasting longer than a week, or you start bleeding so profusely that you are going through a super plus tampon in an hour or less.
This was me six months ago.. and I think I am back to the same old issue. It has only been three days but i've already gone through a box of super plus orange tampax tampons once. I'm halfway through the second box.

I just hope it decides to be nice and goes away in a few days or else its back to the doctor for a double dose of pills which my insurance won't cover.
