I hate black flies!!!

Ok, screw my vegetarianism and I love all critters.....that does not apply to black flies!! On my b-day a few weeks ago, I was destroyed by them, and I am only posting about it now because I am healing....two got really bad and I am antibiotics. (though, there is part of me now that is fascinated by the healing, now that I am healing)


Anyway, learn from Cat's mistake......bug dope is your friend!! (though I was wearing deet, long sleeves, and long pants, I guess I missed my neck.....that's where they got me)

Some animals we can do without their huge numbers.

Black flies (and many other species of flies) is one of them.

Get better!

I killed about a hundred of 'em on Mt Lincoln.....it's a start!


The beetles were really cool....I had never seen so many different types.

First thing that popped into my head when I saw the title was this. Saw it many years ago on Rolf Harris Cartoon Show that was on at the time along with several other Canadian cartoons (Cat came back being the other one I remember).

They are that bad ( they did bit through the sleeves, but not as bad as exposed areas) I should have had a net, but they made me feel trapped.

Are you sure that this is only blackflies? They aren't really up for biting through a surface, like mosquitoes are. (Of course, there's the fact that you can't put DEET directly on your skin, so it's a bit of a moot point anyhow).

How blackflies feed, NOT for the faint of heart:
Basically they just tear up the skin at the surface and then stick their head in. If they can't reach your skin they can't tear it up, so no bites.

They get under the clothes, they do not give in! Trust me, they were black flies (a generic term for different types of buggers) I had many a corpse in my hand
