The viewing was yesterday, and the funeral today. They did a private viewing for my cousin and she got to hold her baby one more time. They let her put lavender on his forehead, because when he couldn't sleep, that's how she could get him to go to sleep, by putting lavender on him. There will be a memorial in my hometown during a church service on Sunday. My cousin is torn up, saying she can't bury her baby. She just can't.

My brother posted to her after she posted about Keaden's death. he may be a pain in the ass, but at times he knows how to get to the heart of the matter and offer comfort. "It's unfortunate that these things in our existence happen. But if it is in god's eyes for things are such to transpire, it is done. I am truly sorry for your loss, hon."

I love my brother, even when he's a pain in the ass.

And one tiny tidbit of good news. My aunt now has custody of my niece's daughter. So she's back with family until all the test results are in. I find it odd that a background check took less time than a drug test. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy that our little girl is with her grandma for now, but I still find it really really odd.

Oh Lupo. I've been away from the boards for the most part and didn't see this until now. I'm so sorry. I want to cry for you and your family. Know that you have my prayers. I wish our cities were closer and I'd give you a hug.

just want to say thank you to all of you for your thoughts and prayers...... latest update....niece's mother got custody of her daughter....and is bringing her home with her...neice and husband are coming with her for a couple days...then they have to go back home..... my sister will have to go back with little one... once cps decides what they are going to do...
they are going to have a memorial here... at church on sunday evening..... and then niece and hubby will go back home on mon morning... mom will kepp little one here...for now...
again.. i just want to thank everyone for the support they gave my lupo...... she needed all your thoughts... and i'm glad she has so many people to help and support her since she is so far from home... thank you again.

Talked to Mama Lupo today. She also send me a copy of the handout from Keadon's memorial service. Complete with full color picture. :cry;

Further news on the CPS situation. The official ruling is SIDS/crib death. But they still won't give our little 3yo back to my cousin because now the investigation is going on to determine why it was SIDS (which...doesn't make sense to me at ALL). Nitpicking little details, like why was he on his stomach, why didn't my cousin and her hubby elevate his head when they found him, etc.

So, my aunt, (cousin's mom) is currently out of town, since she has custody of our little girl, she needs to stay in the town cousin lives in, also largely so she can stay with her daughter. As a result, my other cousin, her son (a special needs guy) is staying with my mom while she's out of town.

Wheeeee... more waiting. Wonder if I've got any wine left, because I'm all weepy again.

Awww...FFS, CPS, use some damn common sense!! Some babies end up in that position because they roll themselves over!!
