I give it about a month until you consider changing it to Tempest.

    • Maybe you should change the title of the thread to "I was not a cat person!" Hey, it could be worse. You could have six like I do.

Very cute kitty! I see you have a pic of yourself in here too. You're not at all what I pictured.

Nope, still not a cat person. But this cat is special. That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.

Well, I find that if I cut down on the baby eating, the trollish aspects of my appearance dwindle until I can pass for mostly human. So, I've cut back to no more than two/week, and the results are mostly passable

Yeah... that's my co-worker's story, too. She's got 5, now.

            • Once kitty finds his place, regardless of where it is, don't put anything there. Sully claimed the top of my dresser. I made the mistake of putting a curtain rod on the top of my dresser. He kindly moved it to the floor for me. While I was sleeping.

                • Oh and if it can kill your cat, your cat will find a way to get to it and try to eat it.

I just caught Sully trying to eat a thumbtack.

Our cats will frequently chew grass and drink the rainwater.

I kept track of how many times our eldest cat decided to bring up his lunch one particular time I took them outside. FIVE times.

                    • Our cat likes to play with drinking straws. Any unattended straw is fair game.... if you turn your back on your drink he swipes the straw out of it...........

Mine too. We were always finding them in closets because they would get knocked under the doors.

Just watch to make sure they get replaced before they get too chewed up. My cats would shred them eventually if we let them.

                          • So, Storm has had a busy weekend these past few days.

My parents came over on Saturday. He was friendly to and curious about them.

Sunday, he got his claws clipped. I even wound up reading how to properly cut the claws online. He was pretty good about it, though he was a bit antsy by the time we were done.

Today was his first shot (distemper). He rode in the kitty carrier, played with the vet a bit, took the shot without even a mew, and was generally extremely well behaved. We also found out that, in the 3.5 weeks we've had him, he put on 1.5 pounds (2.5 pounds today, more than double the 1 pound at the last weigh in).

I have also confirmed he enjoys chasing the laser pointer dot.

He's curious, playful, climbs the stairs without assist, knows where his litter box is and uses it, and is, in general, a really great cat.

                            I'm glad we found him.

ETA: Oh, I forgot to mention this. He likes to sleep on my shoulder, stretched out down my torso. Now, though, tends to slip down my torso as he sleeps, waking up by my waist.

And if you're not a cat person, you're certainly a "storm person" now!

                              • Trick with getting the claws clipped, sometimes they might kick up a fuss if you try to trim their front ones-I know our two do. So we get around it by wrapping them in a towel.
