On the other hand, it's official that I'm a cat owned (not a typo). I've got scratch marks all over my forearms. And just snapped this picture: http://photos.icelus.tzo.com/v/MiscS...64089.jpg.html

      • That is the CUTEST picture EVER!! Congrats on becoming a cat's human. I'm one too - pleased to meet you.

I've read everything & the title reminds me of my dad. About 12 years ago my sister was visiting me & somehow found a little calico kitten, very malnourished & sickly, but a beautiful kitten. She didn't want a cat, but immediately took the kitten to the vet. She was given IV nourishment & she recovered quickly. The vets thought that her mom had probably just ignored her & would have most likely died if my sister hadn't found her. Because the little kitten still needed to be cared for my sister took the kitten home to my parents house & our father almost growled at her "no cats - get it better & find it a home." Approximately, two weeks later kitten is using a litter box, eating fine, healthy & my sister finally found her a home. My sister was relieved & went rushing to our parents room to tell our dad only to find our dad laying on his side in his bed, watching tv with the kitten curled up on him asleep. His response "This kitten? This kitten isn't going anywhere!" It turns out Randy (what her name came to be) had climbed the bed & started giving our dad a bath. He set her back on the floor & she climbed back up & started again. She had made him her human & he fell in love.

Yup. You're been claimed. And so cute!

          As for names:

          Panda?
          D6?
          Pirate?
          Oddball?

          • My cat Dipstick didn't tell us his real name for nearly two years. We got him at the animal shelter (he was supposed to be a she...I never checked...just took the word of the employees there.) Anyhow, we named her Blizzard because she was all white.

After a week or so we discovered that she was actually a he and as time went on his true purrsonality started to show through. My son was a Dukes of Hazzard fan and Rosco (the Sheriff) was always calling his deputy Enos 'Dipstick.' It seemed Blizzard was always acting like a dipstick and we were always calling him a dipstick...so the name eventually stuck.

He lived to be nearly 20 years old.

How about 'Dammit' for his name? You'll probably find yourself saying that quite often as he matures!

My mother still tries to deny the outside kitty who claims us. Seems she can't understand why he pats her leg and nips at her, but just looks up cutely at me. I strongly suspect it has a lot to do with the fact I figured out early on he just wants to be loved on, more than anything else in this world.

I like Pirate. Speaking of sea cats, you could name him Simon, after this fine fellow.

I had a black and white tom named Sylvester, after the cartoon character. Your kitten looks a lot like he did, except with shorter fur and more black fur around the torso.

I'm glad you've decided to keep him. They do know how to pick us, don't they? I've found that most "not cat people" just haven't met the right cat yet.
I don't have an attitude problem. You have a perception problem.
