I signed up for NaNoWriMo!

I'm up to 4591, and about to start writing again. I need to catch up to the 16661 and since I'm not planning to *sleep* tonight because I've got to be back at work in less than 11 hours, I might actually get caught up LOL

So, I saw a sign for a writing contest at my school with a due date of December 3rd. I thought "Hey, it would be nifty if I could submit something to that." On the train home I proceeded to finalize a story idea that's been kicking around in my head, and write an outline (which is impossible, I can't outline.) Now I can't write the damn story. What. The. Fuck.

I sorta gave up already. I mean, the story will get written, because now it's stuck in my head and it's a tie-in to my WiP and I've ALREADY got a sequel to it planned...but I realized how much I missed my friends and my crochet and knitting... :P

I've realized that the way I write (I can't write at a computer, I've tried, it's impossible- I write longhand and go back and transcribe it all) is a major disadvantage to me being in NaNoWriMo.

But I'm having fun and I am working faster than usual. I am really enjoying collaborating with the husband, much more than last time. I think we've found a system of collaboration that really works for us.

AnaKhouri, I commend anyone who does this longhand. The only time I write longhand anymore is if I'm having a serious writer's block day, as the words seem to flow easier when I put pen to paper.

I just passed 6000 words. My goal for today is to get to 10K tonight. If I can do that before 10pm, I'm going to attempt to catch up to where I should be for the day (over 18K)

I am a little over 14k and am about 5500+ behind on where I should be. I have the outline all figured out I just need to stop getting so distracted.

Well, we're at the halfway point, how's everyone doing? I am, as of right now, sitting at 37,747, hoping to reach 45K by the end of the day (at minimum)

Uggg only at 15,868 (however I was only at 12,000something yesterday so that's an improvement in my book lol)

I forfeited my weekend for Ferret play instead of writing time since they have been getting ignored.... poor little buggers. So hoping Tuesday after work I can write all afternoon and bust out the 10K or so more words I need to catch up.

It is kind of worrying me though that I am at my half way point in the story and only at 15.... at this rate I may have to start a second story to finish with the right amount of words......But I suppose I could make the final battle really freaking bloody, that would take up a few pages....lol

Why not try adding a new character POV for a little while? Or let your characters take over for a little bit? Whatever predicament they put themselves in, getting them OUT of will take plenty of wordage, trust me!

Thank youuu I'm not done with the book, I actually skipped forward a few chapters and wrote the last chapter, so now I have to go back and write in those other chapters.
