I got hit by a car just over six years ago, but not as bad as what happened to you. I was just knocked over, and basically sprained my right knee (I guess, never went to the doctor). Took two days off sick, then my regular two, then back to work wearing a knee brace.

she got mead, and a sweet white wine from a "local" winery, and then Rosemont Shiraz, and then TPM and her hubby(?) brought a plum wine that his mom made... we had her trashed! she was digging her self into a hole so deep we thought she was gonna hit China! LOL

i hope you can get some justice against that woman.
wish the laws for your area were anything similar to the driving insurance laws i heard about when i was in japan... laws that stipulated that if you drove without insurance you were personally liable for the bills if you injured someone else. (including lost pay etc).

i hope you can get something similar, especially with obvious witnesses to this.

I feel for you hun. I do *hugs gently, slips in a bottle of "the good shit" * I was cringing at your description because it was almost like what happened to me my freshman year of high school. I got hit by a car, broke my leg and I was more upset about trying to get ahold of people than I was letting the EMTs take care of me.

And I can certainly relate to the pants. They cut mine off too in the ER and I started crying. The nurse was worried she'd hurt me. I told her I was upset because my mom had just bought those for me and she was going to be so mad when she found out. She told me "better your pants than your life".

I definitely want to add my voice to those who say go after the driver, especially with all the info you've got (no license, no insurance, etc.) I know my dad settled with his insurance, but he confided with me many years later that he wished he'd sued the driver because of all the problems I ended up with after, especially my back.

Heh. When I was in my accident I was all, "Call my boyfriend...tell him I can't go out tonight!" cuz we had plans. He ended up coming to the hospital and hanging in the emergency room with us for a couple hours.
