It's all good. Seriously. I was too tired to actually make anything anyway. And as it turned out, I was so stuffed after dinner, I would not have been able to eat more anyway. (And my hosts ate way before I got there, since I got majorly delayed at work, it being busy there.)

I'll take the recipe whenever I can get it.

Sorry for the delay, here you go:

      Ultimate Chocolate Mousse
from my mother, with some comments from me
(serves 4 but also works well in large batches)

      2 oz. semi-sweet chocolate

      2 oz. unsweetened chocolate

      1 T dark rum

      1 t vanilla

      ¾ c. sugar

      2 large eggs, beaten

1 c. heavy whipping cream, whipped

Prep: for best results chill bowl and beaters for cream at least one hour

Melt chocolate in small saucepan over very low heat, stirring regularly. (I melt it in the microwave, you could also use a double boiler if you are worried about the chocolate seizing up)
While chocolate is melting mix sugar, rum, vanilla, and beaten eggs.
Slowly combine with melted chocolate whisking briskly, mixture should be thick but not necessarily smooth. (Sometimes the chocolate doesn’t want to cooperate and will not combine fully, this is okay, just whisk as best as you can and you will get extra chocolaty flecks in the final product)
Cool slightly while you whip cream.
Whip cream in deep, narrow bowl. (Make sure it is nice and fluffy, yet firm, it has to hold up to the chocolate)
Combine chocolate mixture and cream gently with whisk.
      Chill at least 2 hours.

Best served with a dollop of whipped cream and fresh berries.
