I'm a fan of the Always Infinity Overnight, personally. I bleed heavy, but it means I'm done in 5 days instead of seven. And the Infinity can last me a whole day on the last three days of it. So I only go through like seven pads. It's awesome.

And you ladies with the heavy flow, don't worry. It will sort itself out eventually.
I'm forty-something. When is 'eventually'? Menopause?

My last period, I used TEN heavy-grade continence pads, and two medium-grade. Continence pads, not menstrual pads.

I've had three ultrasounds. No fibroids. No endometreosis. Just PCOS. I want them to pull the damn thing out.

      4. Accept the consequences of your decisions.

You put bleach in there yourself? That isn't safe.
Um, NO. I use bleach for cleaning the house. I'm just saying I have no problem with bleach existing in the world. And what are you doing in this thread anyway? No Boys Allowed.

Yeah add me to the list of those praying for menopause. 3 day periods and only wearing Kotex Overnight pads. And sometimes going through one every hour.
One time my body decided to dump all of day 2 and 3 at once, had to leave work early that day.

Oh, periods. Why can't I get it all taken out?! Oh yeah cuz I'm 22 and there's no legitimate medical reason. Damn it.

I can't use tampons. They hurt too much to put in for various pain reasons. Even the tiniest U by Kotex one!

So I use Stayfree ultra thin pads with wings. They make me fly! No, I just wish they did.

I guess this is rather a TMI thread, so...

Before I was put on the pill, my menstrual cycle was a NIGHTMARE. I would bleed so badly, I could bleed through two pads stacked on top of each other, my underwear, my jeans, and end up with blood all over the chair at my desk. Do you know how humiliating that is? I could also start bleeding in the middle of the night and end up with a bloodstain on the bed all the way down to the mattress. It was BAD. Top that off with horrendous cramping to the point of sobbing, terrible PMS [I became the evil psycho bitch from hell], and then other random events would happen. One time, I had a seizure. Another time, I had a manic episode. Plus, I was bleeding off and on throughout the month randomly, so I was probably bleeding at least a little for 20 days every month.

Gyn put me on the pill...

Problem solved almost instantaneously. It was fucking INCREDIBLE. Now I don't have to worry about practically needing to wear a diaper in order not to look like I'm committing a massacre.

This is reminding me exactly how much I hate my periods, heh. I'd love to just have everything removed but I suspect I want kids some day, so no go... I bleed horribly the first day, like almost the entire period in 24 hours, and frequently end up lightheaded or passing out, the rest of the week it's almost nothing. Kind of a blessing and a curse, because at least I get it over with quickly, but it sucks cause I'm useless that day.

Oh periods, is there anyone not going through an unwanted pregnancy scare that doesn't curse when you arrive?

I use tampax pearl but only until I can get a diva cup. I can not afford to spend $20 a month every month on the industrial sized box when I could spend $40 once and have done with it. I'd also love to get the damned thing taken out since I don't intend to ever use it. But, as someone else lamented earlier, I'm 22 (almost, 2 weeks left so close enough) with no legit medical reason other than "Do. Not. Want. Babies."

Same here on the don't want the parts, but I might end up with a medical reason to get them cut out if my doctor thinks so. Well, maybe the specialist, because I'm super unhealthy. They might say keep the parts for later, but I don't want them later.
At least I'm on the pills that don't make me have horrible cramps and all period related things but sometimes not the blood part every day of the month, that's nice. I thought stronger dosages meant the period was less bad, not everyday!

I'm another wanting to be done with my period. I'm 23 and do not have enough of a medical reason to get the parts removed (I do have a slight medical reason, my mother and both of her sisters had to have emergency hysterectomies, plus I'm already starting to have issues with my right ovary, but I "may change my mind and want to have kids some day" so they wont just take it all out). At least my gyno is concerned enough to keep a close eye on me, especially when my ovary started having issues passing an egg (I mean the egg would pass but my ovary would get massively inflamed and hurt like hell, left ovary has always acted normally). We have been experimenting with different methods of birth control (as of now we seem to have gotten the ovary to more or less behave but I still need painkillers for the menstrual cramps) she just isn't ready to start seriously considering surgery.

I have used O B for ever. The stores do not keep much in stock so I pick them up as I see them. I like the no applicator because they fit in pants pockets mush better.
As for menopause: coming into it now. For me that means having a regular cycle foe the first time in my life. PCOS does have some advantages, very few but some.

Actually, I've never had fibroids or cysts, my heavy bleeding is genetic. My mother had endometriosis, and my doc said I could be on the shot for a few years to have a break from a nasty period.

A few years turned into going on 7 now.....I am thinking of something different but still something that either makes the period non-existent or very light. Unfortunately, the company I work for switched insurance companies last year, and the shot is now costing me more and more every time. I called InformedRX last week and found out if I was prescribed Lybrel (the Pill that eliminates the period altogether like the Depo shot) it would only be $20 a month, versus now the Depo is costing me $50 or more every three months and I'm starting to think it's now wearing on my metabolism and causing weight gain. Don't ask how I didn't gain weight the first several years on it, and instead now, but I think it's why. I've been tested for diabetes, my thyroid has been checked, I am in nearly perfect health and there's no reason I should not be able to lose weight.

Ask her if norethindrone 5mg would be allowable for you. It totally supresses the menses as long as you take it. Pure fucking heaven! There is absolutely no reason to bleed every month, or every three months, or even once a year. There is absolutely no reason to be miserable.

If I could have had a hysterectomy at 22, when I originally had my tubes tied, I would have been in freaking heaven. I had to put up with 25 years of bleeding out monthly, cramps as strong as labor [and I did labor twice, trust me. Fucking ouchies doesn't even come close] and the sheer torment of the hormonal changes in my body. I have been in heaven since last summer!
