Mom took me shopping last night/today: new tennis shoes, new brown shoes, two pairs of jeans, and a sweater.

I'm giving: for Mom, a pair of earrings; my sister, a bag of BBW stuff, hand cream, foot cream, etc.; my neice, some makeup and a brush. I've already given my Fiance his coat and gloves, he got me Donkey Kong Country Returns. A group of friends did a Secret Santa Swap, I gave a bag of pedicure stuff and got some fancy soaps in return.

Oh, and when Dad came and got his stuff, Mom set out the houseshoes I got him. Merry Christmas, asshole.

        Christmas loot report 2010

Okay, what did Santa leave for ya this year? I'll go first:

-Gift cards aplenty: $25 from Subway, $25 iTunes card, $40 from Kohls, $15 more from Subway (from my sister)
-The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack DVD from my sister. She says it's a warped version of Spongebob Squarepants, so I would probably like it
1,001 Facts That Will Scare The S#*t Out Of You book and a Darwin Awards book it turned out my sister gave me last year, so my parents will give me cash in exchange for it
-a big box of various scented Pacifica soaps
-a Tomtom GPS. My dad, my sister and I all got one.
-a pumpkin pie my sister brought over and I've consumed half of.

Okay, I think I remembered everything.

I've got 3 opening sessions and tonight was only the first. Xmas Eve with BF, Xmas day with my parents and then next weekend with his family after they get back to town.

Simon Pegg autobiography that I'm in.
21.5" iMac, a computer upgrade that I desperately need. And no, I'm not posting from it. Yet.

Today we had lunch at Carraba's with a gift card given to us by a friend last week.

            So far:

an awesome moose sweatshirt and wine from 1 set of aunt/uncle
a nice flannel robe from an another aunt/uncle set

Tomorrow I hang with the parents/brother/and final set of aunt/uncle.

Hoping the parents like the gifts this year....I went small....DVDs, books, gift card, and "coupon" for me to make them my pumpkin soup (to be used once in 2011, 48 hours notice required) Nothing fancy this year, haha

From my supervisor at work--a card with a $5 gift certificate to a local restaurant and several pats on the back.

From management at work--a card signed by all the managers, but they couldn't even hand it to me personally. They just put everybody's cards in a box and you had to dig through it to find your own.

From an awesome person--a sweatshirt reading "History Buff: I'd Find You More Interesting If You Were Dead."

                Early presents:

                From my G-Ma: Cataclysm

From my mom: A Kent State Hoodie and t-shirt... school pride

From my Dad tonight: Car tool kit, jumper cables, a cordless drill and saw combo, some nice jewlery, and asorted little stoking stuffers. Mind you, the drill and saw are really for the apartment complex, but they wrapped them up and gave them to me since I live there. LOL

Only one I'm expecting tomorrow... a 35 dollar microcenter card in the family gift exchange.

                Pretty good holiday

I got some AWFUL presents from the family this year, really truly AWFUL.

-Ripped, tattered, pink fuzzy dice. I have neither a car nor decorate my room in tacky Barbie Casino style.

                  -MOLDY EASTER CANDY. Yep.

-A stupid plastic ball game (the ones that have a ball in them that you try to get into a goal or something? One of those)

-Bath gels that I can't use because they set off an asthma attack within 5 feet.

-Chronicles of Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader. I don't have anything from the Narnia series except this book.

-an ipod pillow thing that you plug your ipod into and can hear it through a speaker built in the pillow. This I can actually sort of use, but it is a regift and a USED regift at that. Bleh!

                  The others are better.

-$35 in gift cards to a local restaurant.

                  -$10 to "Scharnes and Boble"

                  -$35 cash

-a box FULL of sweets, crisps, pasta, dairy free chocolates, toffee, CDs and The Tarot of Casanova from my boyfriend.

Updated! Presents from my immediate family. I didn't get much of a surprise this Christmas because my mother said, "You work at a place that sells cards and things, you can get your own presents and you're not a kid anymore. Buy what you want and I'll wrap it."

So, what I picked out myself:

$25 each to "River Full Of Pirahanas.com" and "Scharnes and Boble"

3 shirts (lavender, gray/black with a print and plain blue-y teal)

Purple slippers (the shirts and slippers were picked out from Department Store Of The Red Star)

                  $10 to Aid of Rite

Coconut candy, mint sticks, candy canes, headphones and cough drops in my stocking-picked out from work or from the supermarket (want to try the coconut candy)

                  What WAS a surprise:

Warm winter PJs with little penguins

One bag each of "Bindt" and "Rehardelli" chocolates (dark chocolate truffles and milk and caramel bars-when I asked for none since I bought my own dairy free ones online! Oh well)

Hair care items from "Saul Fitchell".

                  Some cooking DVDs and cookbooks.

And a regift-a cookie kit my mother didn't want and gave to me.

We opened our gifts a short while ago, as LB and I will be at Dad's all afternoon tomorrow.

I'll probably get cash from Dad and stepmom, as I do every year (just don't know how much yet - will post that tomorrow night)

                      Anyhoo . . .from Mom:

pair of pink and white Pink Ribbon bedroom slippers
Party size bag of Peanut M&M's
                      Bag of Hershey's Minatures
2 chocolate covered marshmallow Santas (now what happened to the rest of the pack. . . )
Perfume gift set (Lovely by Sarah Jessica Parker)
new 3 piece cosmetic bag set

                      and the DVD's . . .

                      The Sacketts
                      The Long Riders
Third Watch - The Complete First Season
The Lonesome Dove Collection (this one has 4 of the miniseries in the saga: Lonesome Dove, Return to Lonesome Dove, Streets of Laredo and Dead Man's Walk.)

And Mom got a 1999 Chrysler Town & Country full size van, which was donated by a church group who didn't need it anymore and it's been parked in our neighbor's yard for a spell. She got all her paperwork yesterday and has already put a phone call in to see about a wheelchair lift for the back of the vehicle. We've now got it parked in our back yard, after having a friend come over to give it a jump.

We'll get the title work done next week after the office reopens and I get paid on Wednesday, and get the inspection, tags and insurance on it.

Everything seems to work on the van, it's all electric. Just needs a new battery and some work done on the heater (we were told it's the blower, but we'll have a second opinion on that to be sure) and the bottom part of the front fender is cracked (which we'll also have fixed.) Tires are good for the time being, but we'll have a new set put on them next fall. Otherwise she's good to go.

Now that's a miracle for us . . . we'll be able to go anywhere now and not be restricted to taking Mom's wheelchair only to places within the city limits via SCAT. We can now go shopping all day at the Farmers' Market, go over to Burlington to the outlet malls, the NC State Zoo, wherever.

And we have a new thermostat in the Toyota now, as of last week. Now instead of freezing on the way to work, we're now roasting. As Mom says "Turn me over, I'm done."

All in all it's been a good Christmas.
