Quick post will post more later im in the hodpital about to have gallbladder surgery

Ouch...good luck. I hope they're able to take it out laprascopically. As far as surgeries go, gall bladder removal is one of the easier ones and surgeons do it all the time so you should be fine. Take care, and keep us updated!

good luck! i had mine out last year, and it was no big deal. surgery went without a hitch, and i was recovered and back to work within a few days. plus, i felt so much better after it was gone, though i had to (and you may, as well), make some dietary adjustments--primarily cutting way back on fatty and greasy foods to avoid some unpleasant side effects lol.

Good luck, Slicey! The wife had hers out last year, and was back to normal in short order. You should do fine!

Good luck to you, I just had mine out on the 17th, and am enjoying 3 glorious paid weeks off of work, I go back Monday

I haven't had any issues with food, however keeping on the safe side anything I've tried that I'm worried about (Fast food french fries etc) I've tried at home just in case lol.

hi im out of the hospital and here is the story of my hospital visit

so december 31 i go over to my moms and play games with my sister eat pizza set of fireworks and enjoy the new years with them.
i head back to my dads around freezing cause i got no heat in my car and its close to freezing out. i run to my bed curl up under my blankets and promptly fell asleep.

At 4 am i wake up woth pain in my stomach.
Now im on my period and its my 'omg im so hungry i can't stop eating even though i shoud be full, eat mcdonalds and too much pizza' day so i just think i over ate, need to throw up and all will be well.

well i got to the rest room but can't throw up. the pain keeps getting worst and worst until i take a sip of water. The moment that water hits my mouth i was over the toilet getting rid of half the food i ate that day.

My pain is only getting worst though. I can't stand up straight in fact it hurts to stand up sit down or lay down. after about 20 minutes i wake up my dad ask him to get me a bucket (i crawled back into bed) and some water and told him i was in a ton of pain.

I was clammy and in so much pain that he called 911 cause i couldn't walk very far by myself and he was afraid i would pass out form the pain.

The paramedics came and i got dressed enough to go outside but not enough to be out side for long. I am in agony. screaming in pain, crying. they get me into the ambulence .....
and the firefighters who came with the paramedics spend 5 minutes lecturing me on my diet weight and lifestyle (look i know i could stand to be cleaner but the baskets of clothing my room are mostly clean clothing i washed on the 29th couldn't bring in cause of the killer rain and just hadn't put up yet) If hadn't been in pain i would have said ' Excuss me, i eat less than you, have been working on working out more, ive lost 3 pants sizes lately and im working on the whole clean thing but you see right now i feel like my spine is going to crack in 5 places and my stomach explode can you just shut up and take me to the hospital' but i was rithing in agony and could only set and take their 'your going to die by age 25 and its all your fault cause you ate pizza' bs.

I get to the hospital get a blessing from my dads bishop find out if i lay in one positionn and dont move the pain will eb away, but the moment i move it will be back, empty the remaining contents of my stomach, get my 6th ultrasound in 7 years (3 in year) and find out its... Gallstones.

Since the pain was so intense they are going to take out my gallbladder cause even if they can just crush them or removed them its only going to get as bad or worst again.

I meet a surgain am told on the 2nd ill have surgery and i can't eat or drink until them. they can't do a test cause im too big for their table and they debate transfering me to another hospital but tell me that nope shouldn't be a problem.i so dehydrated they had to put my IV in my left elbow and are taking blood for my wrist. they give me codiene and i almost vomit it up cause im allergic to it and i told them that already. On the second a case worker comes in and says 'so they told you they can't do the surgery here and your being transfered right?'

                              um.... no.

so long story short their im alloud some juice and jello and popsicles get transfered to a hospital in scottsdale cause a bariatric surgian there is willing to do me, it just takes awhile to get my insurence to approve it.since im still dehydrated when i get there (my elbow iv got clogged after 48 hours and they had to remove it) they postpone the surgery until the 4th give me a picc lines i get to eat some broth for dinner.

i go in have my surgery laperscopic, i was lucky that there was no infection (and i was able to get lots of antibiotics before the procidure) and after a nother night in the hospital i was released.

now im just waiting to take my post op shower ( my grandmother's [whom im staying with until i can move around easier] plumbing desided to go wonky before i could.) and am greatful that besides the dehydration and weight drama everything went ok.

though funny thing apparently this is geneitc cause out of her 33 grnd kids my grand mother has had like 6 or 7 get their gallbladder removed before age 30.
