  • WoW, sucked in again

Ok, it's been about 2 years since I played hardcore.
My son also took a break a few months after Lich King came out.

We are back. I gave him my old Lock and I don't want it back, so I am rolling new characters.
    On new servers.

Where should I go? I don't care for PvP.
    My old server was Zangamarsh....

I have a character on a PvE server.....Winterhoof? I think? I haven't been playing it much, since I've been working on my main, and it's on a RPPvP server with my Fiance and all our friends (and our guild :P)

Look at how you play. are you interesten Role Playing, go to an RP server. PvP, go to a PvP server, Both? RPPvP server is the course of action. If you just want to have some fun, go PvE.

As for what to start off with, that's where it gets fun. ALL the Vanilla entry stuff has been changed significantly, ranging from several geographic changes (dwarf starting zone is one of the heaviest) to modifications in the quests to make them more viable (The Night Elf starting area has modifications in some of the more annoying quests for example). So whatever you start off with, you can expect a much different gaming experience. Word of note though, the Burning Crusade stuff (Blood Elf and Draenai starting areas) are untouched, but the new class setups make even those more interesting.

Oh, all the stuff you thought you knew about the classes? Gone now. All the classes have had just as massive overhauls to make them viable for leveling regardless of specialization. And yes, you will have to specialize now. Gone are the low level hybrid builds. This is not to say it's a bad thing, it allows you to focus on other things than "will this give me a better benefit than that?"

And questing, has that ever changed. Gone are the "go halfway across the zone for a gather quest, only to have to go back to that same area and kill the mobs in that same spot." Quests are much more streamlined and make much more sense. In fact, only Arathi highlands has been relatively untouched (a pity, I actually avoid that area now) while other areas are juat insane in the work done. Oh, you must handle the Stonetalon peaks area at least once. Best zone in the game now in my mind.

I could easily go on a lot longer in how much the game has changed, but I'll summarize by saying the game you left is gone, replaced by a much better incarnation, well, until you hit Outland at any rate.

I'm on Argent Dawn; it's technically a RP server but realistically it's PVE. Nice server, though, super super active horde-side particularly if you're looking for a guild and/or raids/instances.

My dreams lately have looked like the WoW screen....and this only after a few days playing.

              I play on Venture Co.

It's an RPPvP server, but I don't RP. The server has a perfect population, I feel, so that's why I'm on it.

This is my guy if anyone is on VeCo.

You're playing too much. Take a breather. Remember, everything in moderation and the game's not going anywhere.

Meh, I'd be on the lappy anyway...chattin with the bf... Now instead of looking at LOLcats, I attack things.

And since I play right before bedtime..dreams

My friend convinced me to start playing right around Thanksgiving. I now have a lvl 41 belf pally who I lurve like whoa. She's so pretty. LOL I'm on Arthas, since that's where my bestie plays, but I have a few scattered other places too, like Tanaris and Duskwood.

I dream about WoW too, because I mostly play at night. Weird dreams too, because it's like WoW with a technical glitch, like the mosters will only be like lines and dots like predesigns.

my night elf is level 28, as is my moonsaber (That was fun, taming that cat)

I sadly developed a hatred for WoW bears...since that beat the hell outta me when I was trying to get their fur.....no respect!

(Yup, went and bought the game....the trial is up on Wed, but wanted to get my bf's b-day gift....so a trip to GameStop was in order)

And because I am a storyline freak... I used the last of mu B&N giftcard to get a book on my Nook. Looking forward to reading it....the author has written a few Drangonlance novels.

I finished "The Shattering" not too long ago. Good read, first book I really read since I was never into the lore until right before Cata hit.

Though, now I do want to go back and read all the other books... I wish I had more time to read.

Be sure to read the Genn Graymane short story that's up on Blizzard's website. It's really good! As far as lore goes, www.wowpedia.com is a really good site. Breaks down all the characters, their history, etc. It helps that I have Fiance, who's played since the release and knows *everything*, but that site is good for when I just want to look something up myself.

I've got four characters on Eitrigg and I'm currently grinding a Level 62 Tauren and wondering where the hell all the awesome endgame content that everyone keeps going on about is...
