I know Taco John's is a big midwestern chain but the last time I had it (over 20 years ago) I frankly thought it sucked *gets under cover*,but then I've lived in the southwest almost all my life & it's just too easy to get good Mexican food, that's why I never eat at Taco Hell.

If you're in New Mexico & want to have a really good fast food burger stop at any Blake's Lotaburger, they're a local chain. The majority of their ingredients are locally sourced (the meat's much better than McDs).

If you're really hungry get a Lotaburger with double meat, double cheese & double green chile, you won't want anything else all day

Oh, I don't know. Skipper's was fast food, and they did ok with fish...not outstanding. Five Guys is AMAZING. I can't really eat fries anymore (thank you, diabetes...I hate you SO MUCH!) but they have the best fries ever. And their burgers, which I CAN still eat, are just the best ever, even better than Burgerville (although Burgerville does have amazing chocolate hazelnut milkshakes, again which I can't have anymore...GRRRR!!) About the only way to make one of their burgers better would be to put it on a plate with chili or coney sauce over it. Mmm...coney sauce....
      I miss our Skippers....

OK, now I really need to try Five Guys. Until then, I'll through BurgerVille in as my favorite burger place. Yummm. (Doesn't help that I worked there all through HS & college, then for a bit afterwards). Still have to get my cheeseburger w/ extra spread & pickles. And I still make my own copy of their Ham & Cheese sandwich. Just wish they still served the turkey club.

I'll choose Mickey-Ds if I need something cheap. But since I bought my house, I have Dairy Queen, Burger King, and BurgerVille all within a few miles. And, at DQ I can get a full meal deal (including a sundae) for what it costs at McDonalds.

Five Guys is awesome, but they, like Jersey Mike's, have gotten too expensive. Which has us eating at home even more than we did before (which was a lot).

          Hey guys?

This is a really awesome thread, and I love all the food suggestions and alternatives offered, but some of the comments are a little close to the line as far as being somewhat judgmental of other people's food choices.

Can we please tone it down a bit?

          Thanks!

I LOVE Five Guys' fries, but I am completely unimpressed by their hamburgers.
            I'm bringing disdain back...with a vengeance.

Oh, and your tool box called...you got out again.

I still can't believe people think fish and fast food go together. That just sounds like a terrible idea.
Fish and chips? As in, the quintessential British fast food option? When its good, it can't be beaten by ANYTHING. When its bad, its dire, but then that is true of most things.

I finally had enough of the shenanigans that the McDs night crew at the local location I tend to avoid for that reason. But weather was bad and I had a long drive home, here is a short part of my page long I'm never coming back letter.

"Knowing this locations track record I was prepared for horrible service in exchange for not starving on my drive home. However, last night brought a new low that I previously would not have expected to be possible. "

I did compliment the fact at least one of my items was made correctly but my favorite sentence was, "It is very hard to consider something that tasted brunt instead of fruity an apple pie." - My Pie was Dark Brown, with the edges turning black. As I was driving at night, I didn't realize this when I bit into it. So, I really wasn't being sucking for wanting some sort of standard, yes i know $1 pie but still you expect a level of edibility (if it isn't a word im making it one)

Kudos to the local manager contacting me and offering me two free meals after I explained my avoidance of the location because I get annoyed when they are constantly out of stuff because they say are cutting back on waste, but giving out expired product that the use by times were peeled off of, is just BS.
I'm sorry reading is not a new concept it has been widely taught in our nation for at least the past 100 years. Please, learn to do it CORRECTLY before you become contagious.
