I, too, am in a boat where I can't afford a gym membership either. I've been picking up the activity levels a bit though, including riding my bike to the grocery store. I think I'm going to have to invest in a basket or a messenger rack, because carrying 30 lbs of groceries in a backpack while riding just isn't working, and is pain inducing.
However as of April 17, I took my official weighs and measurements and I have been weighing and measuring myself every Sunday the last 2 weeks. So far, no inches lost, but I'm down 5.4 lbs, so that means I'm getting back into the groove and going in the right direction.
My DVD player crapped out on me, so I'm going to have to find a place to put my laptop to play my workout DVDs, where I can see the screen well enough and still manage to do my workouts in the process. This should be interesting. There are forces that seem to be working against my getting exercise and eating right, but I refuse to let them get me down!
5.6 lbs, and the store I went to 2as 3.6 miles round trip, and managed in just under half an hour. Not fantastic, but not terrible either.
Keep up the work peoples, and firecat, I'm not even sure how that machine works. So, you've got my respect, it looks torturous...

It's not nearly as frightening as it looks. And, actually, it works in two ways.
).
