Ahahahahahahahahaha! The new episode was freakin' awesome. Scary, unexpected, chock-full o' drama....and Rory punches Hitler. Which I could easily spend hours rewinding that part on the DVR and re-watching it over and over again.

You know what's funny? I HATED River Song in series 4. With a passion. Never wanted to see her on screen again. Same. Even going on through series 5, she kinda tottered between 'annoying' and 'unfortunately kinda badass'. Now I find her highly entertaining. All I can say is Wow. It was possibly the craziest episode of Doctor Who I have ever seen. I loved, loved LOVED Rory punching Hitler in the face. Hilarious.
I didn't care for Mels very much. I know we only saw her very briefly, but I just didn't warm to her, however I never saw the twist with her character coming, even though, looking back on it, it was pretty obvious.
This season of Doctor Who has been very character driven. The Nazi Germany setting seemed to play very little part in the actual story. Although I love this season, I am pining for them to go off and just have a few adventures!Comment

All right. So I've watched "Let's Kill Hitler." Fun little episode, and I'll admit, when Mels first showed up plowing through the field in the sports car, I thought it was River. (Little did I know I was right! In a way.)
More spoiler-y thoughts: So, with Melody/River using up her remaining regenerations to save the Doctor, does this give him more than the canonical 13 regenerations allowed to Time Lords?
I'll amend my previous bit of "Fridge Brilliance?" to this:

I am re-recording the episode tonight because my stupid DVR cut off the end on Saturday (and I wasn't home to watch it live). But I loved it. I've loved River Song since she became part of the Doctor Who universe, too...I think Alex Kingston is amazing. And I'm loving her lovey dovey stuff with The Doctor. Kinda funny how Amy and Rory, while definitely still part of the action, are kind of like "...huh???" about the whole thing...
By the way, didn't Rory ever have a last name of his own? I find it amusing that now he's pretty much Mr. Pond when that was always Amy's name...
